well i camehome from school today and when i pull in, let her idle BAM..white smoke..lots of it coming from downpipe..dont know why...havent boosted for days..just drive normal..was alright at school, and such..just started now..anyone know why??

 

if the smoke is only coming from the DP then I'm gonna say it's a turbo oil seal. are you sure the smoke is only white or is it bluish.

if It's pure white then you are burning coolant from somewhere.

 

if its all white its most likely the headgasket. see if it has that nasty sweet coolant smell.

 

yeah white smoke would be coolant/water. white/blue smoke combo would most likely be oil burning, blowby from the rings or a bad seal.

what exactly do you mean by "lots of it coming from downpipe"?

do you mean you're running right off the downpipe without exhaust or that it's some how coming from the downpipe area?

but update: adding oil seems to have made problem go away???started it up again and now there is absolutely no smoke at all??hmmmmmmmmzz so weird..just starts doing it for no reason.. then stops for no reason..

 

If I get low on Oil I start to smoke when Im on the throttle. Soon as I add a little oil and get it to the proper level...no more smoke.
