help warning lights

PLEASE HELP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

a warning light has just come on on my dash after i was kaining my car, its a square box with 3 litte squiggles (~) but vertical instead of horizontal. what does this warning light mean??

It's the Cat Converter Light. If it still drives Ok then ignore it for now but you may need a new converter to pass emmissions. Does it stay on even after it has been sitting over night???
