the tracks may be bent if you hear a pop like that......
mine bent and i tried bending it back straight but it would bend back everytime so i just replaced it with a used one

Sounds like you bent the regulator. The window falling off track is a common problem, especially for the 2-doors. The regulator costs less that $50 at the dealership. The trick is to make sure that the front track (located right at the speaker) is adjusted tight to the window. I actually take my die grinder and make the hole bigger at the bottom of the track in the door to tighten the track even more. You can also try and loosen the bolt at the bottom of the track and move it toward the window as far as you can. This may be enough to keep the window in the track.

One of a handful of things is happening. I have the same problem. First, are the windows tinted?

1. The guide closest to the speaker, the one that the far right side of the window (lookin at the window), does that bend wickedly when its moved up and down, and with that, does the window feel like its on the verge of popping out? When this happens, also look to the opposite side of the window. IF the windows are tinted, this is very obvious, see if it lines up OK. If thats the case, lube it well , but parts are wearing. This is most common on tinted windows.

2. Check your regulator, it may be bent.

3. I had this problem, the teeth on my regular sprocket wore so thin it stopped lifting the window up, the power window sprocket just spun around. This sucked because the timing was bad - rainy season - but replacing it is a sinch and doesn't take much time.

If i were you, given what you're seeing, i'd just replace the regulator. They do get worn out, and solved the problems I was having.
