Default went to the track and not so happy

my friend ran his car and we're not so happy with the 1/4 time. he hit a best of 13.7 . list of mods include- milled head, hytech header and exhaust, jun stage3 cams with jun valvetrain, aem cai, fpr, rc injectors, act clutch and exedy fw, fully gutted, m/t slicks 15in., hondata, traction control bar, dynotuned at 198 hp with i believe 131-135 tq. he is a good driver by the way. do you guys think it might be his clutch and fw because that was his most recent mod.

seems awfully low. there is one guy who ran 13.7 on stock R cams.. although, most people can't reproduce. I've run 14.1's @ 99-101ish on Azenis before.. just bolt-on's. So, it does seem a 'tad' low, esp. on slicks.

What were his trap speeds? With 198whp and slicks he should be running mid to low 13's.

with MT slicks, etc. that's slow as ****

what elevation was this at (it's slow for e-town, etc but probably fine in colorado) and type out the timeslip here.. there's some very useful info in there beyond the 1/4 et/trap,

198whp is not too useful either, a dyno graph would be more useful to show the powercurve, but the timeslip info is more useful in this case.

Seriously relax.

Some people enjoy going to the dragstrip and waht the hell is wrong with that?

He never pretended he was doing something he wasnt. So back the **** off. It'd be different if he say "me and my b0y were rac1n the cany0n tW1steyz". But he went to a legal venue to get some timeslips for his car.

smitdog pulled 13.9 @100 on drag radials and bolt ons.. so yeah, i'd say this guy's car is running a little slow or he should keep practicing his drag racing.. that car should be well into the 13s..

Damn RJ, we really need to stop agreeing on things.. hell will freeze over.

But I do agree with RJ. Technically a "dragstrip" is a "racetrack" and "racetrack" can be shortened to "track". All you ******* idiots probably don't even race your cars anyways, you might do some HPDE's everyone in awhile but who ******* cares? Why do you guys think you are so much better and feel the need to slam his correct usage of a word because you think of something else when you heard that word?

******* idiots

I love autocross and track but i realize and respect the hard work that goes anything car related - drag strip, rallying and even show cars (i'm seen alot of nice stuff that just isnt easy to do).

So what if he doesnt like to autocross or do HPDE events - so what? It is a much more expensive habit than the drag strip fo' shizzle.

Anyways, oh well.

it also has a roadrace/autox forum. but people post about that here as well. drag racing an ITR is a valid ITR forum related question imo, drag racing say.. a civic.. isn't hehe

Bahahaha I love the elitist overtone the ITR forum has, even amongst itself. I have endless respect for people like ActiveAero who constantly produce amazing drag times... That, in my opinion, requires just as much skill if not more than going to road racing HPDE's because there's no instructor sitting in the passanger seat telling you what to do.

Drag Racing =
Road Racing =

Give active aero the car beging talked about that got the 13.7 with all those mods!

What's all the fuss about? He said 'track', to some people that is drag, to some that is a road course/race track. I don't get it.

Drag Road Racing

That 1/4 mile time

I'm just curious, with all the mods, especially with the Jun 3s, I was expecting more than 198whp. Maybe I'm mistaken, but I thought he should be higher than that. I mean, George's car is right around there, no milled head and no cams. Maybe he needs to tune the engine more?

I ran a 13.83@101 on stock cams, street tires (Azenis), stock exhaust and untuned. I would say the driver needs some tuning. . . Not being rude jsut saying, go practice and check back. Elevation is the only other reason that comes to mind.
