Doesn't the JDM front have that little space where it looks like the plate will belong there?

I got pulled over twice in two days by the same cop at the same place in two different red cars for no plates on my way to school. He gave me warnings so then I got scared and put my plate on.

Cops are pretty strict in CA.

 

$10, that's it. Damn, Mine was $77!!! But I went to court wasted 3 hours and got it reduced to $67 plus $5 parking so I saved a whole $5 Wahooooo.

..what I was gonna say. All the other **** you Cali guys say about laws and other BS you get hittup for... why bother giving them -another- reason to get pulled over.

 

in cali i had a friend with an m3 get one from a friggin meter maid.... supposedly in cali if u park on the street a front plate is required... bastards.... how many guys with suv's or trucks u ever hear of getting no front plate tickets?? Just be glad u didn't get one of the b.s. 80 in a 65 on a la freeway tickets..... i actually got one of those once coming down the grapevine and the real kicker was that before the cop had pulled out of their speed trap onto the road cars were actually PASSING me and yet i'm the one who gets pulled over.-rob

 

$10? jesus our no front plate tickets cost $60 here. I got sick of paying that so I gave in and put my front plate back on. If it was only $10 Id leave that **** off.

you're lucky.. i'd leave it off for $10.. but $50 here in MD made me put mine on..

front plate looks crappy on USDM or JDM front.. owell..

 

It's around $80 as I recall, but all you have to do is put it on, go to court and either have them look at the car, or take a picture of it on the car and it gets thrown out automatically. (2 times now I've done this.) Makes me wonder why Cops even bother.

Try driving through a uber-low-crime rate town like Oswego or Naperville on a daily basis where the cops have nothing to do but give people a hard time over stupid bullshit.

Things I've been pulled over for to date:

1. Three times for no front license plates (Twice with the CRX (One warning), once with the ITR)
2. Once for 'looking like I was going too fast'
3. Once for having clear corners on my old CRX... Cop wanted to write me a ticket for 'Unapproved Lighting' or some ****.

Oh, and my personal favorite, in my CRX:

4. "It kind of looks like your exhaust is off kilter, I'm not going to write you a ticket, but you should get that checked out." (When a exhaust hanger broke.)
5. I was driving around the block looking for a parking spot in down town Naperville going around for my 4th time when a parking ticket writing cop pokes his head in my passanger window to tell me there's a 'no cruising law' and he better not see me again.

There have been other times I've been pulled over, but I can't remember all of them. Ironically enough the only tickets I've got have been license plate related. What pisses me off is when I get pulled over the cops give my car a hard once over, shining their flash lights in my back seats and ****... *sigh*

LOL, bad luck!

I drive around every day/live/work in the Northbrook/Deerfield/Glenview and Lake Forest/Bannockburn/Highland Park area with zero trouble.

The cops there have nothing better to do, but they pull over people 'who don't look like they belong', which is pretty awful and wrong right there.

The cops should be out looking for car thefts, etc, and not worrying about 'looking' like you are going fast.

wtf!!!! man i got one of those tickets like 2 months ago and the cop gave me a $177.00 ticket!! that cop was a punk, probably didn't get any ***** the night before and targeted me down because i was the only car on the road. i mitigated it, i go to court next month for it. hopefully i will get it dropped.

anyways, 10 bucks is nothing, i'd gladly pay that price.

I dunno about that on usdm front yes I agree it doesn't look good with the front plate but with the jdm front since you have that square space in the center of the bumper for the plate. I think it looks better. I have the front plate on my JDM bumper.

 

you need to move to FL no front plates here !

damn dat ****** sucks yo... 77??? i've gotten it twice and it was 10 both times.

I also got the metermaid parking ticket in koreatown and that one cost me 25 two weeks ago.

Oh but here's a helpful hint.... go to a CHP office cuz they won't charge you for signing off tickets but some pd & sheriff depts will charge you for that ****...

 

We're supposed to display a front plate in my state, but the law is pretty selectively enforced. If you're young and driving a Japanese car your chances of being pulled over are considerably higher. Everyone else pretty much gets left alone. My folks never put front plates on their cars and they don't get bothered.

I've even heard this from the cops themselves. One officer who pulled me over advised me to put on my front plate, saying, "It really just give us a reason if we feel like pulling you over." He did not give me a ticket (for anything).

I've been considering putting my front plate on. Just too lazy to go to Acura and buy the bracket-thing.
