orderd a first gen b16 from osaka!!!
i just read all the bad stuff about osaka motors and on top of that i just orderd a swap today does any one have any positive feedback from them cause now i am worried i orderd a first gen b16 with ys1 tranny motor tranny ecu should i be worried im not gonna get what i paid for??? does any one have any positive feed back from these people??
I wouldnt do any buisness with them. I would try to get your money back asap. Save your live from months if not years of hell.
look its like this. all the motor places are close to criminals, ok...its a shady business with lucritive profits and thats why these people run them. They dont run them because theyre " Glad to serve the sport compact community and provide joy!"
I wouldn't worry about it, osaka, hmotorsonline, its all a luck of the draw with what they send you. Ive seen motors come from hmotors online in good shape, and ive seen some come in horrible shape, beat up pans and all. Just dont sweat it, lay back and wait for it to arrive. Youve got a lot of work ahead of you puting that sucker in, lotta headaches coming your way.

Personally I'd stick with HMO, anyone I've known who had a problem and talked to steve got it fixed. My engine came 100%. He's fixed any problem I've run into and has cut me some deals for dealing with him and getting friends of mine to get stuff from him. I dont believe all places are shady however it is luck of the draw with used engines. Always ask for a printout of the leakdown/compression tests.
Im sorry, Steve might like you, but for others out there he is shady, no better then any other place. Ever notice how fast he talks on the phone? Its not because it rings off the hook, or because he gets ricer q's all day, he knows exactly what hes doing. The guys at hasport don't even like buying from him anymore from what theyve been sent at times.
He still owes me a check for a shipping refund because he fucked up the delivery method and then told me to pay for the extra cost to be redelivered while hed send out a refund. Yea, after having called him twice now......i pretty much know the money aint coming.
another thing, steve wont give leak down compression test print outs.....he doesnt have time for that.
above post isnot meant to be directed as a flame to the poster above.

Yeah, one of the guys I talked to at hmotorsonline was pretty short with me and seemed like he wanted to get off the phone, which doesn't help me want to buy an engine swap from them. But from what I hear they're pretty busy so I'm not gunna hold it against them, and as long as the engine is great I'm happy. Lets just hope it is, but it won't be till next month.
And on the other hand, osaka was really nice to me when I've talked to them, and they have great prices. So just from customer service, osaka would be my pick, too bad they're not in Cali.

Eh, s'all good, I've just had good experiences and some have bad. And I recieved my compression printout.
I dunno, maybe he has good days and bad, he talked to me about bs for a good 15 min. Buy where your comfortable and who seems cool to you. Its all a matter of opinion.

See thats why that place is Dick, to be totally nice and accomodating to one person, and then not to the other is ******* HORRIBLE business ethics. When i called i was happy cheery and had no attitude........what do i get in return?
We don't do comp readouts, oh the motor will ship next week, oh it shipped this week, oh itll ship next week, oh itll ship when i have the numbers in, i need 35 dollars for a liftgate fee, oh i cant tell you what ecu ill give you, oh spend 50 more now on the actual liftgate fee while i pocket the rest, oh ill send you a refun (NOT!!)oh theres no way i can give you a tracking number.....
Theres no reason to treat me like that and then treat all you other guys fine, i was aperfectly normal customer.

Sounds like you're one of the unfortunate to not have such a great experience with HMO. Did you get your motor yet? When I ordered from HMO I didnt do an overly amount of chatting with Steve but I still got a clean motor with nothing broken or disfunctional. He did give me a tracking number. He did save me $$ on the liftgate fee and on the fee you're supposed to charge to ship to residential places. Those two things saved me quite a bit of cash that I really needed at the time so Im all about giving HMO a
Heres the same pic of my motor that I posted in a thread yesterday.

No I didnt clean it up before taking this pic.

i had a really good experience with hmonline, he even knocked 150 off the price of my swap, i paid 1250 total for it to be delivered to my door because me an my freinds bought 3 motors and had em shipped to the same place.

I also recommend hmotorsonline, Steve was very nice to me but I did ask him if they did a compression test on the engine and he said yeah and he said he would send me the sheet of paper with the numbers on it. Well he never did and I called him back and he said that it must of washed of when his guy was cleaning the engine. Besides that, he was a nice guy.
sooo should i be worried tha i ordered a first gen b16 from osaka they have a second gen valve cover on there first gen motor in a pic on there website that makes me feel they shady allready they better not get shady with me
I would be worried a little just cause of the bad stuff I have heard from them, but until they start screwing with you, don't worry to much about it. Why worry about something you can't control.
i wouldnt sweat it bro...im sure youll get a quality motor..ive heard some good things about osaka...like some one said...all motor selling places are the same, sometimes you get lucky sometimes you dont. just wiat till it gets there and post up some pics and maybe osaka will get a

i got my motor from osaka not too long ago, I put the swap in only to find out that my tranny won't go into reverse, my head gasket is blown, my clutch is worn out, my distributor is bad, my plug wires were torn up and i have automatic cams in my motor
the only thing that i thought was nice about osaka is the fast shipping, but thats about it.....

See the thing is, that would be all fine and dandy if the true reason you didn't get your comp test sheet was because he didnt have one in the first place. Steve is good at this game of fixing "mistakes". Except in your case he didnt even do that did he? hehe

i had nothing but positive experiences with hmotors until i ordered a a b16 sir1 and it wouldnt even turn over. there was rust in the #1 cylinder so i dont understand how he even did a compression test. but he ended up sending me two shortblocks(one had ripped open motor mount threads so he sent me another one) he even covered shipping. i guess maybe he has his good days and bad days like the rest of us.
I drove up to Osaka to pick up my b16a. The guys seemed fine when i was there, they weren't dicks. The motor wasn't the cleanest, a few lil odds and ends were missing/broken, and they replaced them on the spot. Motor runs excellent, trans is fine, very happy with the overall motor/experience. I know it can be way different when buying a motor in person and buying over the internet. They really dont have the time to check every motor's completeness....but you get what you pay for. Again, my Osaka experience was fine.
