I heard phantom grips suck *** bigtime. And there is a factory LSD, but only on the Type-S.

You are right that there is a factory LSD, but not on the Type S. The Type S came with ATTS and a 220 HP motor. The SiR S-spec came with a factory LSD and the 220 HP motor as welll.

The friction plates on the Phantom Grip will wear out, the Quaife will not.

Yeah, phantom grip lsd are not that great, granted they are cheap, but you are not a true LSD, i have heard the can chatter going around turns and even heard a few horror stories about them breaking and killing the whole tranny

I've *never* heard anyone say it's "better." Cheaper, yes, better no. You get what you pay for...

well for what i've heard the phantom grip lsd will work fine for all motor. but when you get above 350 whp that's when it starts breakin apart the transmission.
