Poly inserts for the lower torque mounts ???
These are the a/c and front tranny mounts, that bolt onto the bottom of the frame rail... and NOT the engine mounts .
question is... is anyone using the ES or prothane inserts for these mounts? I have very deteriorated mounts, (about to tear) and was looking to add these on. The guy at the local shop says they give off horrible vibrations under acceleration and are terrible. Just wanting to get opinions from you guys.
Either way, i need to do something. The new moutns from the dealer cost $68.58 each and I need 2. The inserts cost around $60-80.
Also a while back i saw a post about someeone filling their mounts with black urathane that came in a tube. I did a search adn could not find it.
Bottom line is i need to fix or replace these mounts.

I just replaced the two lower mounts last weekend, and I feel almost no vibration increase. My brother has a stock GSR, and he drove my car and didn't even know I installed them.
where did you get them from.. do either of you guys have a ES part # for them...?? i went to my local shop , and they looked at me like i was retarded and tried to tell me they didnt exist.
I would think filling in the mounts would be a better solution over getting inserts. The inserts don't sit in there all that tight, nor would they fill in the cracks.

ok, where can i get the lower mount inserts though.. i was thinking of using those in conjunction with the #m window cement. that way no movement at all
I have all three installed, vibrations were very noticable in the beginning. But now im used to it. I like the way it feels and my engine doesnt move at all when you throttle it.
Is no one reading what i am actually posting? I want the 2Lower front(Torque) mounts.... not the 3 engine mount kit.
Summit and suspension.com dont have them

ummm those are considered the torque mounts. The engine mounts are visible from the top. There are three torque mounts, tranny side, AC side, and behind the block.
What are you talking about?
The torque mounts are exactly what were describing. 3 pieces. The 2 lower torque mounts are PART of the 3 "torque mount kit". Just buy the kit and use the lower 2 and not the rear.
Taken from suspension.com which carries every single piece ES makes:
1994-00 Motor Mount Inserts -
(3 Torque Mount Positions) 16-1106
With Manual Transmission only $33.00

i went to my local shop, and looked at the kit they were sellin, and it was 3 engine mounts, without the 2 lower torque mounts
I got both.
I have the following now
2 front lower ES bushings
Rear Prothane bushing (hard plastic)
Tranny insert from prothane (hard plastic)
Drivers side mount by prothane, its a complete insert, you must cut out ALL of the old rubber.
All in all, car vibrates alot from the upper drivers side mount, the rear prothane stopped my motor from floppin around, So i will be going back to the stock drivers side upper mount shortly.

The 3 come as a kit. Buy the 3 for $33 and you will get the 2 lower torque mounts. Theres your answer...if you want the 2 lower torque mounts, they come in this kit. $33. From suspension.com. What your shop has obviously isnt this kit, which is the one youre looking for.
How many different ways can we tell you this?

I'm guessing the "R" is for "RED" instead of black
