Car running real lean help!!!!!!!
I just put my a/f guage on my all motor car in the sig and when @ WOT it only lights up the red (lean area) and while cruising sometimes doesn't even light up @ all. I hooked it up @ the ecu to D14 oxygen signal wire which leads to the white wire on O2 sensor. Is this hooked up right?????
All I have is high compression. Should it really be this lean. For fuel I only have a chipped ecu and a stock gs-r fuel pump. Also my fuel pressure is @ 40psi.
Can I add a Fuel pressure regulator and start turning up the fuel pressure till it goes to rich @ WOT? Will this work???
The only other thing would be injectors and aftermarket fuel pump, but don't have the funds for that right now.

what compression are you runnin?
I would run a lot more than 40 psi at WOT. Take off the vacuum hose and raise your fuel pressure (assuming you have an adjustable fpr) and raise that to 48ish PSI w/ the vacuum line.
I would also check your ignition timing and set it at 0.
HTH.

I have CTR pistons and in a gs-r motor is 12.3:1 compression, plus the head was slightly milled so I guess around 12.5:1. I don't know for sure, due to don't know how much was exactly taken off the head as I bought the motor how it is now.
My FPR screw is stripped and I can't adjust it any higher than 40psi. I have to get a new B&M top.
I might try to put a clamp on the return line to try and raise the pressure a little.
Is my wiring for the guage right?????

Have you pulled the plugs and check their color. That will tell you if your really running lean, or if it's just the gauge.
When was the last time the O2 sensor was changed...?

I just recently wired it up. I'm gonna change the plugs out this weekend also.
I added a fpr and turned it to 48psi and still the same no difference.
If I put the car in 5th gear @ like 35-40 mph and floor it you can hear the valves pinging.
Does anyone have any suggestions?

If its pinging you need to definitely do something. However what air/fuel meter are you running? Stock O2 sensor? If so get rid of it and get real one or go to dyno. The ones that hook to a stock O2 other than the VX five wire don't work worth anything. Those sensors are meant to read at stoich only. You want to be about a full point below stoich. Good luck.
Got it dynoed. The dynoed a/f ratio showed different than the a/f gauge. I was running to rich @ 48 psi with stock fuel pump and even @ 40 psi I was still runnig a little to rich on the dyno. My a/f gauge still showed lean though.
