Default h22 eg guys w/ lsd... can you break the tires lose in 2nd or 3rd?

bad gauge for power, but 1st gear, I can spin the tires at any RPM, but 2nd, I can not break them lose. I have an lsd, clutch/flywheel, just wondering about you guys. As far as tires... I have crappy snow tires (stock size.)

With the Hotshot header on my car, on street tires, I can shift hard into 2nd gear and it would just spin all the way to redline, and spin a little bit in 3rd gear..... I had the stock Honda LSD in my M2F4 tranny.

When I had the 22x7x13 slicks, I did a burn out once from 2nd gear..... didn't sound too good when I dumped the clutch (didn't want the axles to break) so I just did 1st gear burn outs with the slicks, and just feathered it around 6-7000 rpms in the water box.

Wow, that's interesting.. I have GSR rims now with snows on them and I NEVER break loose? Maybe I'm underpowered/doing something wrong? I have the stock H22 LSD and an EK hatch? WEIRD.. it's stock except catback and testpipe, and no airbox, just a cheap filter thing. Just checked my CEL's last night. Nothing but EGR.. running stock P13 too. I'm getting that chipped ASAP from Kenji.

Dude! You started your burnout in 2nd?! I start in 1st til rev limiter, then shift to 2nd really quick...you'll still be spinning, so you won't be going anywhere anyways.

BTW EK22Tim, if you're not spinning, you're accelerating. Don't worry about breaking the tires loose...put it down to the pavement!

exactly. Spinning your tires doesn't help anything

With my old turbo B20 setup (same 22x7x13 slicks) at 12 lbs of boost, I'd drop it in 2nd gear all the time in the water box at 6000 rpms and they'd warm up pretty good. Otherwise, if I started in first, I'd be bouncing off of the 8500 rev-limiter right away (with a chipped LS ECU). That's why I tried it with the H22 but like most all-motor setups, it doesn't like to be dropped in 2nd gear. Hey, I had to try so all of you guys who drag your H22 Civics would know

LOL true, true, if you're not spinnign you're accelerating, but it makes me worry that mine's underpowered. That's all. Comp looks great on the motor, and no engine codes. I guess I just have a freak! It pulls nicely though.

Man, I wish my **** would hook up as good as you. If I punch it in first it spins, and like Newman, if I launch it, it spins through first, second, and tad in third. Traction has been my biggest problem so far. Did that traction bar issue ever get resolved?

when I had my 195/50/15 I could roast them through 3rd, but since I've got my 205's I can only chirp them into 3rd. My H22 does not like to start in 2nd for burnouts it smoke the clutch more than the tires

Well, I DO have 205 series snows, and I got the race kit from Newman, which includes the front cross mount for H22's ( by the way)
I wonder if that would have something to do with it? Other than that, I'm running Skunk2 coils and stock shocks for now, but my AGX's are on order. I donno why guys. It's weird. maybe cux my EK's heavier than the EG's? Kenlude97 drove my car and said it's got less spin than his H22 prelude, so I must be doing something right?? Oh well, she hooks up every time!

I have an ek using the hcp race mounts and when using 13inch steelies I would spin all of 2nd and a little on 3rd, but right now I'm using 205 yok paradas and in first gear it would break lose if I punch it hard and it would start sliding in 2nd and would chirp in 3rd.

i have 215 yok paradas and it all depends if ur launching or not. if i just go slow in first and mash second itll burn for a little with the quiafe and then third there is a notciable loss of traction. but it depends what clutch ur using too.

yeah, i wish i had lsd too.
BTW.... how does someone go about doing 2 tire burnout with a non.LSD trans? I've been able to do this at the track but I've never been able to figure out how or why.

damnit, I want lsd too.

i wanna track me down a Euro R tranny. argh. those are rare as hell.

I would turn your wheels. fastwanabe, you should be able to burn both of them w/ the torque you have.

you only spinnin one tire?

60% of the time its one tire. When they both grab I leave 2 even strips but like I said I dont know how I do it. I know for sure my tranny is NON LSD.

stock lsd! quaife owns, but that is like $700-800. The M2B4 or even if you can find the Euro R tranny would be around that exact price.
