ok guys, my friend just bought a 350z a coupple of days ago, and i need to beat him. i own a 93 vx hatch. what mods could i put on it to make approximately 240 at the fly, without going turbo, for the lack of money involved? i could really use ur help, i don't want him to win, and make fun of my little hatch! thanx

 

well....get some ITR cams, ITR valve springs, intake, header, exhaust, on slicks should net you a 13.6 I would hope

 

man, any other ideas anyone, i would really like to break into lower 13's maybe without slicks, what do u think????

 

First off, you dont need 240 at the flywheel to hit a 13.6. A b18c1 in a gutted hatch with i/h/e and slicks will get you a 13.6. Maybe some mild cams and tuning. With all that, you definately can hit a 13.6. Provided you are a halfway decent driver.

 

you want to make 240whp without nitrous/supercharger/turbo.. if so your talking about some bad *** power that will involve the whole block to be rebuilt ...just throw on a 80shot on nitrous and smoke that rich friend of yours and move on..

 

240 is a personal goal, it would be nice to get there, but my main goal is having my friends *** handed to him when he gets whipped by a lil old civic hatch!!!

K20 ITR swap ... but seriously ..I mean what kind of money is in your funds? go ITR if u can afford it..throw on some DRs/suspension and clutch on and you'll probably see high 13's possibly

I wouldn't set that as a goal. There will always be someone faster so don't build a car to beat someone else, build it to have fun with. Besides if he can afford a 30k car i'm sure he can afford mods to beat your goal of 13.6 once you reach it. Even if you do beat him he still has a 350z and you still drive a VX Civic. Trust me I know how it is.

 

sooo, you dont have a b18c1. well i would suggest gettin a itr swap then you should be around high/mid 13s. if you can drive

get a ITR and a 75 wet shot and you will be in the 12's

 

ITR,ITR,ITR. Why? Becuase of that smile that always follows the very wicked VTEC sound that an ITR makes.

 

i had a b18c1 in my old integra that my dad owned and we turboed it as a father/son project. it was nice, but now i want my own car, and i don't wanna have to go through the troubles of a turbo again. plus, it would just be nice to have a 350's *** handed to him by a civic that's naturally aspirated. here's what i am thinking so far, since i am only gonna take out the small back seats, i don't wanna completely gut it. remember, i'm still only sixteen. and need a daily driver for school. here's the plan:
*JDM ITR
*cams
*gears
*50 shot nos
*exhaust
*intake
*header
*VFAC
*suspension work
*lots of dyno tuning

how does this sound???? plz and comment or critcisms will help

 

thats funny, you wanna "smoke" your friends brand new Nissan by a few tenths so you can brag about it, while the fit and finish on that car is not only in a different league than your civic, it's playing a different sport.... mod your car for yourself not because you want to impress people

 

the only way you would really beat him is to build a 11 second car w/ a ITR tranny and a better final drive so you can hit 160, because if not after the 1/4 he will smoke your ***.
