Default how many of you have had problems w/ your skunk2 camber kits?

i bought mine feb of 2002, and they probably started falling apart around nov. 2002, i recenctly took them off due to the fact the boot coverin the balljoint has tore open and make noise and could be a safety hazard. im sure you guys know that the skunk2 control arm is much larger than stock. but does your skunk2 arm hit the top of your fender well when you hit a bump? or tap against it? im sitting on h&r race suspension and even w/ its stiff spring rate it tends to hit.... so me being dissatisfied with the qaulity and performance i call skunk2...

so... i called group-a (skunk2) to explain my problem. i've never had a problem with the guys that answered the phone before, but for some reason i had a dumbass answer... he said.... the reason why its hitting is because you have soft springs, and the camber kits aren't meant to be sent that low/out. so i asked him... why the **** would i get a camber kit that has 4 +/- degrees of adjustment if i couldn't lower my car more than 2 inches?! he said... they're made for race purposes not street.... okkkkkkkkk... so well he basically tells me i need to buy a boot myself, and they'll replace the bearing in a month or so...

he said i was the only complaint he ever received on these camber kits... is it just me? or any of you have had the same problem?

No the balljoint boots suck. Mine fell apart in about 6 months. I called them and they told me I would have to send them in to get them replaced with my reciept. I haven't bothered. About the tops hitting the shock tower, yeah, you can't lower it that much. And I wouldn't suggest it either.

to keep bolt tight, you could get those loc-tight, which will go in the threads and make it harder to loosen.
ingalls and skunk2 both make those arm replacement camber kits, and I reccomend using the spc or progress ball joint style kit

the boot on mine ripped after a couple months...i've heard of people swapping over the rubber boot off the OEM A-arms to the Skunk ones. Other then the boot tearing, I'm pleased and haven't had any problems with it hitting the top of the fender well and I'm sitting on Neuspeed Race (2.25in) springs.

mine didn't start hitting until about 5-6 months after... but you could see if from under the hood where it starts to hit.. the paint begins to crack....

I heard that they fixed the boot problem and they dont do that anymore. I have a pair sitting in a corner of my room waiting to be put on right now...I get em in Feb, so that should be after the boot fix...but I still plan on swapping over the oe boots just as a caution

I have had both problems. I sent them an email and told me to contact the shop I got them from and order a new set of ball joints. $80 kinda sucks.
I have not had a problem with them slipping.

here is a pic of where the control are hits. this is from under the hood near where the strut bar would mount.

fixed pic

If you’re looking to take away camber then stick with SPC or Progress. As group-a stated these where originally designed as road race parts to increase camber and require upkeep.

This is what they where made for, adding more camber to a double wishbone suspension.

i say suck it up if it isn't too bad... jic has the same problems... if you're like me and don't go to the track often enuf to need them, and drive it daily ... then don't bother
