Default Check Engine Light

My Type R came up with a check engine light the other day. With my OBD-II scanner the ECU is showing a code P1382 (Manufacturer Control Igntion System or Misfire). The Car is running perfect but where should i begin looking for the problem?? I cleared the code numerous times but it comes back on immediatly after the car is started. Any Suggestions???

Get the MIL Code and let us know what it is... most of us don't rememebr the OBDII codes but the MIL Codes a lot of us know.

To check them, follow this procedure http://www.bseries.net/html/garage/engcode.php

9 short? or 9 long?

9 short would be the CYP (cylinder position sensor code).

9 long would be evap system, try to tighten the gas cap (click it for a full revolution). There are a number of ITRs with this code right now..

9 short = CYP cylinder position sensor. check the plug, test it (procedure is in helms, someone can post it) and replace if needed. you can first unplug the battery or pull the radio/backup fuse for 30 seconds to see if the light will go off/stay off..

We tested it, just like the book said and it tested good. We have erased the code many times and it always comes back on when you start up the car. I have also noticed that the car idles alitlle rough and low. Its hard to take off from a light without stalling or burning tires. When you are drivng down the road at a constant speed and try to acclerate it hesitates for a second. Do you think that any of these symptoms are related to that engine light on??
