Did I pour in enough tranny fluid?

After we changed my clutch and flywheel and got it all back together last Friday, we proceeded to pour in new Honda MTF (even though the Honda MTF that was in there looked very good after only 16K miles). Well the front end of the car was up on jackstands, and the fluid started pouring back out the filler hole after only 2 quarts (I didn't even open the 3rd bottle). Did I get enough fluid in there or should I add more? I'm thinking the car should have been on 4 jackstands to get the normal 2.3 quarts in there. The last time I filled it, the car was on a lift, and about 2.3 quarts did go in before it starting running out. Thoughts?
hmmm, I think you should have your car level and add some more tranny oil; If the car was only on stands in the front then the oil probably started spilling out early. Just place the front on jack stands and use 2 ton jacks to hold up the car level and add some more.
Yeah same thing happened to me. about 2quarts and it started spilling out. That was with 2 jackstands up front. I changed it to just lifting the car up on just the tranny side and i filled it to 2.3 quarts no problems. I doubt the .3 quarts will be a problem, but I like to stick to specs.
Im guessing the fill plug is towards the back of the tranny case (i havent looked in a while)? so when the front of the car is lifted it doesnt fill as much.

you did say there are some left in the transmission correct? i put new tranmission fluid in my car with one side only jacked up and i just added a little more and sealed it to compensate for the not level condition of the car.
better way i see it is fill it up using the speed sensor method from over the tranny in the engine bay.

Dang, I wish I had brought that extra bottle of tranny fluid down here to school with me when I came back Sunday. Now I have to wait a couple of weeks when I'm done with school before I can top it off.

what i do is put a long *** tube attached to a funnel into the filler hole
drop the car
overfill the tranny
pull out tube
let some fluid drip out
reach in from the engine bay and screw on the filler bolt
raise the car
tighten down filler bolt
ready to go

I used about 2.5 in mine. I jacked up one side (w/the small jack) then removed tire and lowered it again (eyeball it until it looks even). When filling it, I got a couple of extentions and removed the 3 10mm bolts holding the speed sensor down then removed the fill plug and used a funnel to fill it until the fluid dripped out of the fill hole. Then just plug everything back in and go.
I used 2 bottles and about 1/4 of the 3rd bottle.
I had the car set on 4 jackstands so it was even and used a funnel tube to fill it.
I would say no, you don't have enough, unless you didn't drain all of the old MTF out and had a bit left in.
