Default vtec and my Apex Vafc question

What is "vtec input" and "vtec output"? and how come if I dissconnect the vtec connector from the vtec solenoid and drive it normally, the screen says that vtec is comming on although i know it is impossible because it is dissconnected.

I'm just waiting for you to blow up your motor. People aren't telling you to have it tuned and dynoed for the hell of it.

It shows that VTEC is activated when it really isn't because the VAFC still sends the VTEC output signal to the VTEC solenoid, even though it may not be hooked up. And no he won't blow his motor up from having no VTEC, it will just be really slow.

He won't but they wouldn't put a warning all over the manual if people weren't playing around with it. Whatever man, better you than me.

you can hear usually hear it engage, even on a SOHC. and I think the VAFC has a monitor setting that points to when VTEC is on or off, doesn't it? if not, just make sure all the fuel trims are set to 0%, and gun your engine somewhere. try and listen to vtec x-over at the RPM you set it to.

it still reads through the computer plus how is it that you can blow a LS motor then it has no vtec??? where do people get some on their comments.

it seems that no matter what i do i can't seem to feel or hear vtec. i don't expect it to feel a kick like NOS or anything like that i just expect a different tone of sound or some indication that it is working. my car feels that same whether or not the vtec is connected. shouldn't i be able to feel it?

well, when my Y8 was bone stock, i couldn't hear it (and obviously not feel it). but when i added a shorty intake, A'PEXi N1, and a DC Sports header, i could definitely hear VTEC x-over. once i went past 5500 rpm, the engine would start screaming like a bitch. still didn't move, though.

what exactly does the scream sound like. i'm dying to know what it sounds like. by the way i have an aem short ram intake and a dc header and a fireball exhaust system of which i replaced the rear section with a GSR stock rear section muffler.

it just get really really loud. it doesn't sound different, just a shitload louder. I could feel a TINY difference in acceleration with bolt-ons, but the increase in noise was far greater.
