Default 93 civic climate control lights

I've been trying to figure out this problem on and off for about 4 months now. Its the light that lights up the left side of the heat/cold air control (above slider, the white that outlines the buttons). For a while it would go out then come back on when i tapped the top of the controls. But now its completly out. Thankfully someone tried to steal my stereo so i have great access to the area at the moment. lol. Anyway i can get back there and feel the wires that hook up the light, but i cant find any thing out of the ordinary? I've used mirrors to get a better look but im at a loss how the plugs go in. Looks like there is a tiny plastic plate i have to remove, but id sure like to hear from some people who might have fixed this already. I knows its nothing to complain about, but i feel better driving when everything is the way it should be. my philosophy i guess

I have the same problem. Only one of my lights work.
I have even take the thing out and used a test light on
it. It has power but the bulb dosent light up. If you take
out the bulb that dosent work and put the test light in the
socket it will light up but the other side will go out. My climate
controll looks really ghetto with only one side lit up. Any help?

Is yours the left most light that goes out? Im pretty sure mine is just a lose connection since i could get it to light up with a lite tap. So you took the whole thing apart? Could you decribe what the inside looks like, i can see the red wires and that they go into a little square in the top of the whitish/yellow plastic. But i dont know whats inside the little box, im guessing the bulb. Also if i follow the wires out it feels like there is a connector in the front part (toward outside of dash) of the plastic. Its that a removable plug or what? Thanks

My lites do the same thing. My buddies did too. I don't care enough to get them fixed. I know where the switches are and what they do. It's not worth $80/per hr for Honda to fix. My clock even resets everytime I turn the car on.

just pull the climate control out and replace the bulbs, that should really be the problem. unless you have been messing with the wires back there?

Yup, all mine went out. I've just come to accept it as a 5th gen quirk and leave it at that. I just remember which button does what, and feel for the right one....

mine does it to, and i held my bulb up to a light to see if it was blown, like you do to a regular light bulb, and there was a little piece that was lose, shaking around. Cuz my goes in and out, if i tap on the top of the controls it comes back on, when i hit a bump or anything like that the light goes out, then i hit the dash again and it comes back on.
Anyway, i replaced it with the stock bulb from the other controls but took the blue cap off and put the amber one back over the bulb worked fine for a while now is doing it again....so i guess if you get a replacement bulb then you should be fine.

just my .03
