I have a whopping 8 miles on this motor: LS/VTEC, endyn pist. and eagle rods. mated to a jg pro series head.
Anyway.....
I drove to the liquor store today to pick up some cancer sticks, and when I was leaving, my car wouldnt start. Took me 3 tries to get it to start. I get home and I notice water coming out of my valve cover
What is going on here? ! ?

well there was smoke coming from the tailpipe, but thats supposed to be normal for new rings and motor. I havent noticed any smoke from the little filter thing either. The smoke from the tail is very little now compared to when i first started the break in.

Check this out pal, take off the oil cap, and if its milky, you have water in the oil, and the head gasket is blown.
This maybe because of improper instalation, or the head is warped, or the block is warped, or maybe the sleeves sunk a little bit and settled a little lower.
If you take off the head, check the torque on the head studs before you take it off. 1 by 1, document the numbers...
IF the head studs are ALL torqued less then you installed them by like 10 or more, its possible the sleeves sunk slightly, either that or you detonated a ton on the motor and caused seperation.
I might suggest checking the deck with a straight edge and feeler guage, to determine levelness, and then putting a new gasket, get the car running for like 200 miles easy, driving, then re-torque the studs again after that to spec.
And add a bottle of "bars leak" in the ratiator, remove the thermostat before you do this, and loop the fan to always run...then when its run in, you can put back the thermostat.
That round about way I just posted is the answer to the diagnosing of your problems...
Thank you.
Jeff

OMG how could this be possible. The motor has 8 miles and has not seen past 3000 rpm and no boost.
Where can I get "bars leak" and what is its function?
Viren (b18bturbo) built this motor and I dont think he could have installed anything wrong since he is experienced in this field.
The level in my coolant tank has not budged either. No over heating.
Could this simply just be because the rings are not seated yet?

so what did he install wrong? upside down headgaket? Did not torque the studs correctly?
Im not sure how to check the torque on the studs, i know how to torque them down....is there a reverse process to a torque wrench?

****! I just found white jizz under my oil cap.
I cannot put up with this **** no more! I just swapped out the whole motor because I was having the same kind of problems on my last one.
Maybe it because I have not retorqed the studs yet after I heat cylced it once. I was instructed to do this by viren. THERE is NO was the headgasket can be blow if i barely drove it correct? If I tighten them, should this solve my problem?
EDIT: I just realized that I reused the oil cap from my last setup with a leaky headgakset and forgot to clean the cap out. Its like caked on there......not liquidy so that means it dried up. I guess its from the last motor? Im PRAYING that this is only because I did not retorque the headstuds. I also noticed that there are little flaky stuff floating at the top of my coolant from the radiator cap, but then again, i did not wash out the radiator from the last motor either.

couldn't hurt to try....torque it down to spec...but before you do...look around the HG are for leaks...this may give you a clue as to where its leaking...

Why don't you try "properly" diagnosing the problem before getting all worked up and pointing fingers.......you may learn something too???
**sorry sounds kinda mean, which I wasn't meaning to be. I have to babysit techs at work all day long who can't diagnose what they had for dinner last night, let alone how to fix a low power engine. I guess it just spilled over alittle.

Sorry to hear of your bad luck. First you get a bum tranny and now this. I wish I knew what to tell you man. Good luck in figuring it all out.
Lets not start ganging up on the dude...he CLEARLY was the first person to defend Viren, saying that he didnt think it was installer error. He isnt pointing fingers at anyone, rather he is just trying to find a solution to his problem. Jesus.
Torque those SOB's down ASAP man. If thats what you were instructed to do and havent done so, get workin

hmm.. still sounds like you're making a milkshake by way of the headgasket

Was the car idling bad or running bad? I know when I blew a head gasket it smoked like a mo fo and it ran like crap. Check your coolant level too.

Cool. I just spoke to Viren, and he said it is normal for all his race engines to produce a milky jizz under the oil cap.
I am going to retorque the headstuds, run "Bars Leak conditioner" and bleed the cooling system. Thanks for the help guys. Ill keep updates.

just make sure to follow the directions we gave you as well as retorque the ehad.. also like i said pressure test your coolant system to check for leaks you can see if it does leak by doing that. Also make sure to change the oil check it to see what color etc. milky greenish is antifreeze and oil mix if this is happening something is not right with that JG head we got. thats the only thing that is not new part in that motor.
