ball bearings in oil pan????
WTF... ok i removed my oil pan today and i found like 11 bebe's like from a bebe gun... is that **** suppose to be in there or wat? or is it like in a spray can where its there to keep the oil from sticking around in the pan?
I've never heard that one before......what motor do you have?? Is there even anything inside the honda motor that uses ball bearings??
edit: you wouldnt happen to have a ball bearing turbo would you?

o sorry. i have a b16a2 and have never removed the oil pan before.. but after removing it today to get it tapped i found the bebe's.. I just got a T25 custom kit but havent installed it yet just doing lil stuff first..
any other comments on why these bebe's would be in the oil pan? theres nothing wrong with the motor.. axlez are fine and everything runs smooth.. of course i cant drive it right now cuz its jacked up on stands

are they perfectly round or just round in shape?? Did the motor have a previous owner?? I would find out what the problem is before you go any further. I would say ANY loose metal in your oil pan is definately a problem......
there are no metal shavings in my oil pan or glitter or anything like that what so ever.. they are perfectly round ball bearings like from a bebe gun my pan has no leaks or anything my motor has been running very strong no problems.. only thing i have done is an intake
kind of ironic but makes me want to put the ball bearings back in the pan when i bolt it back up because my motors been running so strong stock..and feel as if it will not perform the same without the ball bearings

That's just Bizzarre?!?!
I would be pretty worried if I found ball bearings in my pan.
I can tell you this much, Honda DID NOT put them there.
On the briter side if it runs fine after you take them out then I would assume all is well.

the more I think about this the more it confuses me for a couple of reasons.
1) I dont think there is any possible way you sucked them into your motor, you would have messed up valves and stuff and even then how could they get from the combustion chamber to the oil??
2) I dont think anything in the motor uses ball bearings...unless the oil pump does, but I didnt think they did. Besides, if it was the oil pump you would have figured it out by now...
The only thing I can think is that someone either dropped them into the dipstick hole or just took off the oil cap and dropped some in....take off your valve cover and pray there are none in the head. The oil pickup should have a filter over it so I wouldnt think any of them got into the head unless they got dropped in from the oil cap. Sounds fuckt to me, do you have any enemies?

If there really are BBs in your motor, somebody obviously put them in there with naughty intentions. That's the oldest **** in the book. Hate to admit it, but when I was a kid there was some real bad blood between this guy and a buddy of mine ... one day the guy bought some old Chevy truck was some freshly built 454 in it and my buddy poured a whole carton of BBs down his carb (this is back when the hood popped from the outside
) and that truck fired up and ran for about 20 seconds and poof. I think the guy keyed my buddy's car (which was a NICE 68 Mustang) or something if you're wondering why he would do that.

No problem with the bb's. Someone had to drop them in your dip stick hole or oil filler hole. The flowing oil in that area just carries them to the pan where they sit. They cannot be sucked into the engine because of the screen in your oil pick-up. You might want to take the pick-up off and clean the screen just to make sure.
I had 2 locking nuts disappear off my rockers after a pass in my race car. Replaced the nuts and kept running the car. Ran 9.35 @ 154 with them in the pan with no problem.
If someone had put metal filings down your motor, then you would have a problem

could this have happened if someone had put the BB's in the oil filter? Maybe someone stuck them in while the filter was on the shelf
Oil flows though the filter in a manner that would keep the bb's in the filter. It only makes sense, it wouldnt be a very good filter if it didnt trap stuff.
that is so true.. i use mobile one oil filter but i think i am going to start using stock honda filters.seeing how they are only like 3 dollars and mobile 1 is like 10..

is that the peice that hangs down with a screen that you see after taking off the pan?</TD></TR></TABLE>correct
If bb's were in the filter, they probably would have rolled out as you were installing it.

no, what I meant was that if someone put them in there they wouldnt make it into the engine. Although I've never used the filter I would see no reason for it to have bb's in it some the factory....
BTW what color are they?? are they copper colored? If so they are definatly bb gun bb's

they are shiney silver or chrom ball bearings like bb's .. but if they put it in the oil filler shouldnt the oil filter have kept in filtered in or it would have fallen to the oil pan? also for the oil pick-up screen shouldnt that have prevented the bb's from getting into the oil pan or did it fall through a dif route?
ok, they were NOT in your filter. What we are trying to tell you is that someone physically PUT them in your motor in one of two ways.
1) through the oil filler
2) through the dipstick
From what I can see there is no other possible way it could happen. Someone hates you.
