I need help with my JRSC BOV...
If you're wondering about the title I'm not a riceboy. I have an unusual (to say the least) problem. First let's start with my set up...
-JRSC @ 8lbs (Jackson pulley upgrade)
-Hondata 2B
-RC 440's
-DC Sports 4-2-1 header
-Greddy SP (full catback)
-AEM intake
-Stock fuel pump (my walbro is about to go...don't need it anyways because of the Hondata)
-Map sensor has been relocated to the manifold and I do have an IAT.
Here's the problem...
At 6000 RPM the car starts to...well...hiss? From another car or if I'm passing it sounds like a Blow off valve. The whoosshhhing sound is audible clear until it drops below 6000 RPM. The car doesn't struggle and it's been like this for months. Everytime I come close to having enough money to have this seriously looked at life kicks me in the ***. The last time, I sprung a vaccum leak between the manifold and the charger. That got fixed. It comes up cool on the compression check. We've also disconnected the charger to see if it was the problem. With no belts connected it still makes the blow off noise, so it ain't the charger. I've been reluctant to post but I've basically hit a dead end with this. I've had no loss of performance (that the butt dyno can preceive) and I don't have a rough transistion from vacum to boost. The air fuel reads a little rich that's because I'm not done tuning. It's not the Hondata because this developed before I put it in. I'm at a loss guy's. Any one have ANY idea what this may be? Perhaps there's something me and the guy's have been overlooking...something simple. Any help in this annoying matter would so be appreciated.
Thanx

I've also posted this on clubsi but no help there yet...if you got an idea please let me know.

Its not a BOV. BOV are used on turbos and the Vortec SC. You are hearing the header pulling away from the cat. It is common and since you don't have a problem with power loss you shouldn't tear everything apart and break something in the process.
1strdtko,
Thanks for the reply bro...but it isn't the header pulling away from the cat. I have a GSR doughnut to stop that from happening. That was what we first suspected as well. But the springs and the fitting from the header to the cat is all snug. Not too tight but still snug. We've just about checked everything except the clutch but I don't think the clutch is making any of this noise. The clutch is going out but still.
Anymore ideas anyone?

Check for any cracks in any vac. lines as well, I have heard this before in my friends acura, and it does sound like a BOV, but this was the only thing that I could think of....Good luck
