How can you tell if you have a blown headgasket or piston rings??
I'm getting coolant in my oil.. but no oil in the coolant reservoir. I did a compression test and #1,#3,#4 are getting 98 and #2 is getting 180 like it supposed to.. I'm also blowing crazy gray smoke out the exhaust. My breather hose is shooting crazy coolant mixed with oil..
is it a blown head gasket or piston rings or both??
thanks for your help

blue is probably rings. headgasket is usually tons of white. headgasket there will be oil in the coolant and the car will overheat.
yeah it may actually be "white" smoke.. I know i'm getting lots of oil in my exhaust pipes though

doesnt matter either way. you gotta pull the head to change the rings or headgasket.

exactly, so just pull the head and see if it's the HG. then go from there...
