just before the tranny shifts i can hear what sounds like my heat shield rattling? has anyone ever had this problem before and if so what did you to to fix it. T.I.A

 

Had the same problem. My car would have a rattle at around 3000 rpm. Most likely your heat shield is crack or rubbing on something. My fix was to remove the heat shield.

 

yup, heat shields do that sometimes... have u done anything to ur car recently? like add a short shifter or a new exhausT? anyways... jus look for the source of the problem and bend/bang it to a shape that won't cause u as many problems or jus remove it like the other guy suggested.

 

one of the bolts that holds my heat shields together had come out. i just put a new bolt in and it went away. others say just remove the heat shield. anyway, get under your car and poke around the area (after lots of cooling time of course), see if you notice anything loose or rubbing. good luck.

one end of my heatshield rusted to the point where it became completely loose from cat. a hose clamp fixed it right up.

 

i think its becasue your car is a peice of crap! but thats my opinion! lol
