Default Yoko AVS ES300

This tire, according to the Tire Rack, appears to be slightly better than our RE010's...anyone considering trying them, or anyone have any other knowledge of this tire?

I don't see them listed at Tire rack. mind posting a link to them?

I've used the es100's and they are pretty good tires... Much better than I expected.

You are correct...I had a misprint...it is the ES100, not 300...sorry. Is it a good tire? When you compare with the Tire Rack our tire against the ES100, the ES100 has a slight advantage. Did you feel it performed to par?

I have a set in 195 50 15's currently. I like them very much. plus i paid like 59 bucks a tiref for them. Much better than the kumho ecstas i had last.

I really liked the es100's. When I first put them on, I thought I had made a big mistake as the sidewall seemed to flex and the tire squirmed around a bit. As the tire had about 500-1000 miles on it, it improved greatly. For a street tire, I feel the cost/performance/livability makes it an excellent buy.

Compared to the re010, es100's don't have the all out stick of that tire, but it's damn close as the tires got older. The re010 was a noiser tire as well.

I presently have azenis and it has a bit more stick than the es100's, but the tire noise makes the azenis a poor choice for a daily driven car, IMO.

For the price, the es100 sticks/handles great. much better than kumho 712's at about the same price. I'm interested in trying the kumho MX next, though.

hope this helps.

How is the tread wear on these tires?

I'm a bad one to be asking about treadwear as I only get between 6-8k miles from a a set of tires no matter what type/brand of tire I run.

The es100's were no better/worse than other tires I've run, though, if that helps. they lasted about 6 k. halfway between the life of these tires, I lowered my car w/ lowdowns and didn't get an alignment done. as a result, inside tire wear was accelarated and the life of the tires were diminished. I have since had an alignment done w/ the azenis I now run and had the toe changed from a +.10 degree to a -.10 degree to help curb the insides from being eaten up. I'm sure if I had done the alignment when I lowered the car, the es100's would have gone 7-8k.

The Yokohama ES100 is designed primarily to be an economical (i.e. CHEAP) performance tire, like the Kumho Ecsta Supra 712. It is not up to the performance standards of today's best street tires, such as the Bridgestone RE010, Bridgestone S-03, or Falken Azenis Sport. If you want a great handling tire with performance to match your ITR's capabilities, get one of these three tires (or something similar), not the ES100.

you are entitled to your opinion, of course, but have you actually run these tires that you sound so down on? I have owned all of the tires listed here and my feedback is based on owning and running these tires into the ground.

the es100 stacks up quite close to those other 3 you mention. much better than the kumhos, for sure.

I just ordered the Yoko's from tire rack and got a call from the tire rack saying that the tires are on back order and there is no time estimate as to when they will get them in....

i have these tires.
they kick *** in the rain.
maybe that's because i used to have the falken azenis, but still..
i was slicin' through puddles and hard rain while driving on the freeway.
i think the treadwear is alot better than the stock r bridgestones...
but that's not from personal experience...just from what i've read and
what i've seen.

I ordered a set yesterday and first tried tirerack to hear the same thing - that they're on back order for 8-10 weeks. So I decided to try discount tire and they had some in stock which shipped out last night and should be here Friday.

I'm afraid to take other people's opinions on tires... last time i bought tires, everyone was telling me the 712's are sooo good for the money. I bought them, and they are worse than the stock XGT v4's on my Si wheels....

i got the es100's on my car. i havent had a chance to really push them to the limit, but i do know that they were better than my old yokohoma A520's.

when the es100's go bad, im gonna either try a set of falken azenis' or some bridgestone SO-3's.

I also got a set of the AVS ES100's a few weeks ago and at first, I was also questioned myself about the soft sidewall that this tire has, but now that I've put some miles on it, it seems to be only getting better, but I've yet to push them real hard, but so far, I think they are equal to my friend's RE010 if not better in terms of performance but I feel that they still have room to improve w/ some more miles on them and definitely they look nice in my opinion

if you get these tires, they might feel a little shitty at first, but after you've broken them in, you'll feel you made the right choice for its value

I run a set of ES100 @ 215-17-40 on volk rims. They've run pretty well, and i've even had them in ice and snow once.

I also had some RE010's and S-03s in 15" form. From my limited experence, the S-03's were my favs.

I just bought some 205 50 15's from the rack and they will be here tomorrow. I herd they are nice street tires. I use Race rubber on the autox track so all i really care about is some descent street handling and long life. My tires ususally last for a year in the front. and 2 in the backs.

I just got a pair and they are great. The treadwear is considerably greater than the azenis, 200 for the azenis and 280 for the es100. People have also said that it wears more like a 300 rating tire.
