my windows lagggggggggg....
i had that prob on my 5g and I heard you have to clean the tracks where the window sits, clean that out really good. The dirt that builds up in there causes the lag. I also heard that you can spray some Armor all in the tracks to help it.
What is the procedure to clean the tracks? Is it a big hassle?
When I spray the silicon, does it require me to remove my door or anything like that? Or do i just jam it down there and spray away?

To spray the silicone, what I did was spray the window track from the top to the bottom (where the window goes into the door) with a nice steady stream of silicone spray. I used the little red straw from a can of WD-40 to spray it directly into the track with minimal overspray. It worked great. No disassembly required.
I doubt it. Just test a back window first. I was wondering if that stuff would get all over my windows and mess them up but you couldn't even tell I sprayed it (other than them working good).
ok sounds good...i shall do that. after i get my car back from the mechanic since i just almost totalled it. just another quick question. where can i obtain silicon spray? and how much will it run me for?
i heard sprayin those lubricants will hurt the tracks in the long run... yea it might be smooth right after u spray the tracks but the lubricant will attract more dust and dirt, thus the tracks will lag again... try cleaning the it with a towel ... or something that doesnt attract dirt so much

My experince too, that is spraying the tracks and rubber WORKED GREAT. I'm not sure which did the most good. At the top, use the wd40 red plastic straw for the tracks, spray top rubber only using can spray nozzle. Windex both inner and outer window and clean up all overspray. Not too sure which helped most, spraying the tracks or the black rubber at the top.

I took my door panel off this weekend , I cleaned the track in the middle of the window, and also cleaned the track on the sides of the window . I then sprayed lubricant on the tracks and that didnt help to much . the window will go down alright but still lags when it goes up. so i started to investigate and i notices 2 cables that goes into the regulator and attach to the window. 1 cable pulls the window up and the other pulls the window down. There is this plastic part on the regulator that is a track for the cables to ride on so they dont get tangeld, well i noticed that on the cable that pulls that window up the cable has wore out that pastic track making a grove and is making it hard for the regulater to pull the window up because the cable is catching on the grove, i dont see anyway to replace the plastic part without having to replace the whole track. also i tryed to lube the cable up but that didnt work. the pick-apart i will have to go

you really cant see the plastic part im talking about but it would be on top of the track you can see a small square
