I am considering getting an aftermarket exhaust. The apex n1 is the one that catches my attention the most. Here is my question. How loud is it?Is it something that you can deal with?Is it that bad under normal acceleration and day to day driving ?I have a JDM 4-1 and test pipe already.I am sure that can't help quite it down.I can imagine under W.O.T that it is going to be damn loud but I was hoping that it isn't too bad just driving to and from work/school..thanks
I would get the N1..it looks really cool cause it sits a little bit crooked and it sounds really good...i have the dunk on my car right now and im going to switch to the N1 soon..with the silencer it helps quite down the car but since you have a test pipe and stuff then you will be load no matter what...

Should be sorta quiet - at idle!
lol Although a custom black n1 muffler in 80mm might be even louder and stealthier.
Yo,
It depends on how you drive. I have a wrapped JDM 4-1, A.Teo custom 2.5" cat, and an Apexi N1 w/ the silencer taken out. I've also just sold 2 more Apexi N1 catbacks to people in the area w/ 2001 ITRs. If you drive casually, you'll be fine. If you drive like me, people evidently hear you from a long distance. I took a friend of mine out of his apartment complex, down the block, around the corner, and on the next road headed into town. People told us when we got back they could hear my car ... literally, a mile away in vtec, the downshifts, the upshifts when I got on the throttle, everything. I guess its all personal preference
If yer just tinkering around town to work and school you'll be fine.. its not punishing. I've also got no interior, and a 4pt cage, so that does kind of make things louder. I can still go on 250mi road trips with the stereo (although only front speakers) on, and its manageable.

I have a N-1 and it is a little loud, but not to me. It is probably the best looking out of all the exhuasts in its price range. I still have the stock header and the cat on mine, so I couldn't tell you how yours would sound like on your car. Under normal driving it is fine, but on the highway, at about 70mph, it sounds really good. I have a video that I took of my buddy going by at about 90mph and it sounded like a bike or kinda like a race car on TV going by the camrea when he went by. Sounds really good. It does get you alot of attention. I am almost positive that you would be satisfied with it. I have never been annoyed by it at all.

I just put my N1 on this week...it sounds awsome. Cruising on the freeways @ 80 mph with or without the silencer it is not that loud...it only gets loud when you put your foot in it. It has a good rumble at idle and at wot with no silencer it is damn loud.....everyone at the shop that has driven my car thinks it sounds great including myself. Give us a call if you are interested in a N1 catback...we have three ITR ones in stock. 1-888-69SPEED. ask for Mark.
I have heard and seen the N1 at the track and that I why I chose to get one. Personally, I don't think it is that bad, but I also like the silencer option. I am hoping to have my Spoon Header, Carsound Cat, and ApexN1 on by the middle of next week.
The idea of customizing the piping back to the muffler sounds like a good idea that I could do over the winter. I was wondering if that was possible since everything else will be 2.5

The test pipe is what will make your car loud once you get a different cat (or cat-less) back exhaust with a straight through design muffler.
Believe me...my Thermal wouldn't be that loud, but the test pipe is the weakest link. LOL!
