Default JDM ek9 civic type R

Hi just got myself an ek9 after years of owneing an sir II, I dont have much tecnical data just getting the car setup as i',m down on top end speed / power.

does anyone know what the valve clearence should be ? on track testing shows a strong ish, 0-60 but will not get past 120mph just loses power car runing a little hot plus hi ish hc's.

so if anyone has any b16b data so I can do the setup cool. theres only about 5 ek9 civics in the UK and most of them go to honda dealers that dont know the cars!

regards

perry

i has seen alot of b16a2 go higher then 120 mph so you should think your motor would easily do it. are you sure it has the right motor in there becuase my old sohc shut off at 120mph or maybe you converted mph wrong

you prolly have a speed limiter, I know the jdm ecu's have a 120mph speed limiter. My stock dx hacth will do 130, just takes a while.

I would take my car to the dealer to check valve lash, if i didnt know anything about it.

this may **** you off, but my friend just put in a b16b and had 280 (+/-5-6) all the way across when he did a compression test.

people have variations in Compression testing.. as long as the numbers are consistant from cylinder to cylinder ..220 is not bad. as well as 280
