Are Is300 better then the RSX-s
i was just looking for some opionions on what car OVERALL is better, is or RSX. from what i understand the IS300 is very quick but the RSX's six speed and gear ratios make up for the difference in power, however the IS also has gobbs more torque, help me out.
If you're interested, when I autocross, there's always an is300 there. While I like the looks of the is300, it has got to have the most body roll I've ever seen on a "sporty" car... its absolutely outrageous...everyone looks on in horror.

While it may have a lot of body roll for a true sports car, it will still hand the rsx-s it's *** on the auto-x in d-stock.
IS300 = rwd + i6
that gives it superior drivetrain layout for powering through corners & more torque everywhere in the powerband v.s. the rsx-s.
the rsx-s however will OWN the is300 in terms of aftermarket support.

You're kidding, right?
The IS300 has a perfectly balanced inline six, RWD, near 50/50 weight distribution and double wishbone suspension on all four corners.
The RSX is a cheap, four-cylinder, FWD shitbox with MacPherson struts.
No comparison.

Well, maybe the one I see has blow suspension or something. People really do WINCE when they see it going. The driver is a newb, too, so hes probably getting too hot and trying to turn too late.
The one thing I'll concur is that the IS sure is better looking!

You can't compare 2 cars by a dragrace.

If you want a potentially fast car the RSx type S is the one to go with. Your looking at a lot of money to make the IS300 fast with a turbo kit. My suggestion is to go with the S. I've driven it and if I didn't have my teggy I would want the S as well.
IS300s are slow... They run 15.5/4 depending on the year... I love it inside, the look and feel is decent... but it really does have quite a bit of body roll and the handling isn't all that great... I went to the Lexus dealer ready to buy one, and it just wasn't up to par... My friend has an RSX-S, and had a broken leg... So I would always drive it to the legal/illegal drags in San Diego... I honestly think that the RSX is a better car overall... It doesn't have as much body roll, but the rear end likes to kick out on you when you're coming around corners too quickly... They both have their pluses and minuses as with any car comparison... But I'd choose the RSX-S if I had a choice between the two...

I would agree with that. But, if a comparison were to be made, the IS300 is clearly the better car for reasons others have already listed. Of, course it does cost between 8 to 10k more.

Have you seen how tinny the rear sway bar is on the IS300? Oh my god, it literally looks like a straw.
They're right though. These two cars are totally different. You can't compare the two to each other. On one side, you have a high reving four cylinder with a FF layout. On the other side, you have a torquey(sp) straight six with a FR layout...late

I'd like to get IS300 better...although I do like the RSX a lot...but with all the standard goodies out of the factory...HID, 17", and etc.
