Mugen chipped pr3 questions...
i have a 88 CRX with a B16. does a Mugen chip totally eliminate o2 sensors? because im thinking about getting a race header in the future. thanks in advance.
PR3.MDS
PROGRAM TYPE::::
DOHC VTEC program with disabled sensors (Mugen variant)
VTEC RPM POINT::::
[choose one] 4800 | 5200 | 5500 | 5700
REDLINE RPM POINT::::
[choose one] 8800 | 9000 | 9200 | 9500 | 10k
FUEL & TIMING::::
maps are enhanced moderately
SENSOR INFO::::
Disabled VTEC pressure switch
Disabled knock sensor
Disabled 2nd 02 sensor
Disabled speed limiter
DYNO TESTED?::::
[ not yet ]
NOTES::::
Most widely sold program I have for the PR3 ecu. Not only is this a great race program for the 88-91 civc/crx and 90-91 integra, it makes wiring up VTEC less of a hassle since all you have to wire up is the VTEC solenoid sensor!
Having tested the listed sensors disabled, it does not hurt anything performance-wise on a naturally aspirated engine. Gas mileage will slightly drop with this program.
ISSUES::::
A few people have reported that they have issues with a low idle/cold start, but once the engine warms up it runs fine. Also, when the A/C kicks on the idle drops low and sometimes the engine will stall.

actually, if the chipping is authentic mugen, both O2 sensors are bypassed....unless the programs that are copied are different..i'm running a real mugen pr3 in my car, and is disables both o2....just to let ya'll know

Smog check? Whats that?
We arn't subjected to the sniffer test outside the city where I live. The mugen program is great. I run a VAFC to help cut back some of that extra fuel. The Mugen chip is also good for the LS/VTEC.

i think http://www.locashracing.com let me check on that we rewired mine for 2 o2 sensors...there is no knock sensor, that's it
i ordered my chip from Kenji. got it in a couple days.. haven't installed it yet though.. probably next week when i put in my ITR cams, intake manifold, jg throttlebody
i got the mugen chip with all sensors enabled, 5.5k vtec and 9K revlimit

http://www.hyperducktuning.com/ has a diy kit where they send you the chip with two programs, you choose the programs, they have the mugen chip $35.
i recently socketed my authentic pr3 mugen egu, and i have the bin file saved if you have a eprom programmer. This one does not require any O2 sensors guaranteed. PM me if you want the program.
