Default Timing belt and Crank bolt

I am all out of ideas about this so I hope you can help. I am doing the TB on my 96 GSR. And as you know you have to remove the crank bolt to access the lower TB cover. I cannot get it off!!! I know there is a special wrench, but I have a lightened underdrive pulley so the tool doesn't work. If anyone has done this and has a method that works it would be gretly appreciated asI have tried everything, including the impact gun, and one really long breaker bar!

How many ft/lbs is the impact wrench you used? An air or electric one?

A 240ft/lb electric one should do the trick - you can rent it from a local store I'm sure.

Try the air gun. If that doesn't work, try a chain wrench to hold the pulley. It's a plumbing tool. Last resort would be to pull the tranny and clutch. Then use the flywheel bolts to hold the crank pulley steady. Good luck.

pull the lower flywheel cover off, and the teeth are right there. No need to pull the tranny.

I use a chain wrench to take my stock pulley off. It would work for you too.

Good point. That would work. Don't like the idea of trying to hold it by the the flywheel's teeth though.

I jam a hex bit, like the screwdriver bits for a drill, in the flywheel teeth. Place it just before the bump in the tranny casing and that keeps it from moving. Then use a breaker bar and have at it.
