Questions about Building an All Motor ITR.
I recently bought a 97 ITR and i right now i have $4000 dollars to put into the motor, i want to run mid to high 13's with the money i have right now (allmotor). i was also wondering what i would need to do to be in the 12's?
This is what i had in mind for right now:
Ignition
CTR intake Cam
Skunk 2 gears
Fuel pressure regulator
Skunk ECU
Tanabe Racing Medallion ( any susgestions on exhaust? )
JDM 4-1 , or DC SPORT JDM 4-1 headers
Mugen Head Gasket
and Nitto street slicks
( thats like a $3000 price tag )

Strip the **** out of it to get the weight down to about 2200 lbs and you'll be there.

I would save the money on the CTR cam, With a cam Gear on the dyno there is very little difference. Also I would only start with one cam gear on the intake, from MY experiance on the dyno with the stock cams in 2 different motors there is little gain to be had on the exhaust side. Why bother with labor involved in installing the headgasket unless you plan on getting some headwork/valvetrain upgrade at the sametime. If your going to run a header and exhaust 86 the factory cat and install a high flow or a test pipe. Those are just some qwik thoughts

Get headwork, and bump up your compression, get a real header like hitech, cam gears, vafc, and tune the hell out of it. aem intake , custom exhaust.

you want both adjustable cam gears if you start milling hte head or go with a thinner head gasket. i would go with higher compression pistons.
where do i get SMS headers or Hitech??

AllMoToR97ITR,
If you want to get your ITR in the mid 13's for right around $4000 or less (definitely less) I can do it for you. I am located about 30 minutes north of Tampa. Email me at kenji211@gte.net
I have went 13.7 @ 102 on street tires in my '98 ITR with less than $3000 in mods. I still have the stock head and the stock block.

ok what are your mods...i'll drive to tampa , what are you planing on doing to it . you can email me at vincelanz@hotmail.com
Here was my setup when I ran the 13.7 @ 102:
Iceman intake (get the AEM, it works better but fits like sh*t)
64mm TB
cam gears
Mugen headgasket
JDM ITR header
test pipe
5Zigen Border304 exhaust
Skunk2 ECU w/one of my OBD2 to OBD1 ECU conversion harnesses
Toyo T1-S 205/50-15 @ 25 psi.

1st Suggestion: (Engine Power)
Spoon Header, CTR Pistons and reprogramming your ECU.
2nd suggestion : (Power delivery)
ATS Close gear ratio set, Spoon Race LSD , ACT or Spoon Race clutch and any light weight Flywheel.
If you can built you motor to have big power but you can't have the power deliver to the wheels so what's the point?
