how many ohms is this...DVC?
i got some extra 12's laying around..they're the latest KENWOOD excelon DB+...they're DVC..so both are 4ohms right now..im wiring them...uhh..i dont know what its called...series or parallel, but all positives together and all negatives together....so thats 8ohms...regular...what does it drop to...do they both drop to 2ohms then combine that and it becomes 4ohms all together..>?????sorry i get mixed up with that DVC+ohm ****...???
I am confused. What is the rating per coil? If you have 4 ohm vc's and they are wired together in parallel(+ to + and - to -) then you have 2 ohms per speaker. From here you can have 1 or 4 ohms if you connect the two subs together.
Have a look on here: http://www.jbl.com/car/Subwoof...m.asp

okay..i remember now...thats it..you're right..it does down to 2ohms...

wait a minute...you said its either a 1ohm or 4ohms all together right...so the two wired parallel brings them in total to 4ohms???? am i right or is it still 2ohms...
If the speakers are wired to 2 ohms, you can get 1 or 4 from the pair. If you wire the pair to a 4 ohm total load then you are golden.
PS, connecting the two subs should be series not parrallel. It may be safer for you to wire the subs vc's in series, giving you 8 ohms per sub, and then parallel to bring the pair to 4. Less chance of smoking your amp that way.

okay i saw this...and it looks like right to me but just need other info...it shows wiring for 2 DVC 4ohm subs...and says its 2 4ohm subs = 4ohms...and its wired like this...should i try this instead...???
okay..i finally got more info...
series will make my load 4ohms...
parallel will make it 1...
i have a kenwood 729s 300x1...which load should i go with...right now i have it wired at 1ohm and was told it draws too much power and could cause a lot of overheating on the amp but is probably gonna be louder than series, would series sound more clear?...any other suggestions..????
