Default HONDATA prob guys help please!

i have a b16 . drag 3 kit s200b, cpr 550cc saturated, base map from payn

Car starts and idles perfect. Under light throttle sitting still the car will rev to 4 and i didnt try any higher. went to back the car out of the garage and under any moderate throttle it falls on its face and pops and cracks. i pulled #1 and it looked pretty rich.

my datalogging showed 2% duty cycle at idle
16 degrees advance at ilde
when the car studders the 02 spikes lean
stock fuel pressure

any ideas
i dont know if its injector related or something in the rom.

any suggestions would be great.

obd1

i pulled the vacuum off the fuel pressure reg while the car was idling. then pinched it closed which i thought would raise the pressure a bit. Car acted pretty much the same. I dont have a fpr.

Boosted Hybrid took a look at my datalogs and thought that the injectors might be larger than 550's. Im hoping this isnt the case cause these are brand new and supposed to be 550 saturated.

You may want to try contacting Payne since they did the base map. They should be able to point you in the right direction.

Can you go a little more in-depth with the symptom? Like describe a little bit more whats happening. It sounds like your just running rich. At about 4k under light throttle you should have an A/F of about 11.5 - 13.8 correct? Lean that sucker out- if the plougs are fouled.

I'll answer since Chris isn't around, his car idles pretty good, when you give a little gas, say 25% throttle it misses like a mug. Thats about all I know. We need to get it driveable so we can roll it up to Tom's. I can't tell crap from the datalog other than his duty cycle stays kinda low in my opinion.

His duty cycle on the injectors are extremely low, and his is running super rich. Those two things point to more fuel being injected than needed, which tells me that the injectors are larger than 550cc. Its my best guess, I cant do much without hooking up a wideband and physically being there.

We called and verified with CPR that it is a 50 lb Delphi saturated injector, used casting numbers off injector.

Then the fuel pressure is to high. The duty cycles are way to low for spitting out that much fuel. 1-3% duty cycles for mid 11:1 air/fuel is way wrong.

Chris/Boostedhybrid, what do you think about putting the stock pump back in
to see what it does as far as lowering psi, would it hurt to try?

I have a similar problem with my JRSC '99 GSR @9psi. I've got the Hondata S200 and RC 440's. My problem is at part throttle at about 10inHg of vacuum. It stutters or misses for a split second then is normal above or below 10inHg. My tuner told me that this is only happening in '99 GSR's at that level of vacuum. It seems to backfire a small bit when I hit 10inHg. How is everyone fixing this problem in that area without having to change the entire map?

My tuner knows Matt and Doug at Hondata really well, and gave them a call about it. Matt said to take the plug off the Purge Control Solenoid, I did that and it didn't fix it.

Any clues?

If your fuel pressure is stock, as well as your fuel injectors being confirmed to 550cc, then its the maps. I havent had problems with hondata creating maps when sizing the injectors and fuel pressure, the maps are all very drivable. You need to have the car tuned, an hour spent on the partial throttle maps will make it drive like stock. Spend the money and get it tuned.
