Default how do i check how accurate my tach is??

i have a feeling that my tach is a lill bit off. but i don't want to take it to the dealership cause they gave me some crap about having to pay for some tech labor cause it may not be messed up. i think if it is off then it is off by a couple hundred rpms. so please help me out.

I'm pretty sure stock tachs aren't exactly accurate .. you should be expecting a few hundred rpms off. (I'm not an expert, but I'm pretty sure that's right)

From personal expierence and everything I've read stock tachs are off by about 200-300RPMs, mine seems to be over about 200RPMs but I dont think there is anything you can do about it calibrate it correctly.

The stock tachs aren't very accurate. If you need accuracy, (like when setting idle speed) get a good digital tach.

I did a dyno run and let me say I did not relise my tach was that off, When My car hit the cut off it was reading nearly 10k. So now I know to bring it higher for more power, yup this only meens I have been short shifting

Mine is off by almost 400rpm at 7,000. My stock tach reads higher than it actually is. In lower rpm it doesn't vary as much.

They are about as accurate as you want them to be. I admit though, they do look kind of bakla, but it's all good.
