I bought my 91 civic and they came with "MATRIX" adjustable coilovers. I've never heard of them before. Are they any good or just sum cheap set like ractive or APC. If anyone knows let me know. (The ride sucks)
yeah, they're cheaper ones, but you might not be much better off with anything else. Basically, coilovers are about two things, spring rate and quality of the perch/sleeve. Unless you know what you want, the spring rate is probably fine for you. Also, unless you are having problems with the perch sticking or anything, or want an easier thing to adjust, you are probably fine with this too.
Coilovers are generally harsher than springs, so this may play a part of the harsh ride, but your shocks may be bad which will give you a different harshness. You might have heard this before, but you probably need new shocks. Since you have coilovers which you can adjust, you might want to look into '87-'89 (?) shocks to increase your travel. This would be especially helpful if you want to be really low.

Thanks for your help. Basically you guys have said what i was thinking. I've never had coilovers before and personally do not like the ride. I'm gonna go back to what I know and replace these coilvers with a set of H&R racing springs.
