Default DC Ceramic Headers losing polish?

I popped the hood of my car last night to check on my distributor, only to see that my DC 421 header now looks like ***. Strangely enough, parts of the header seem to have lost the ceramic coat. I have no idea what went wrong, anyone else experience this problem?

Well it's good to know that I wasn't just seeing things. That still sucks, but oh well. Thought that ceramic coat was good for something, guess not.

Im in the same boat as both of you... My DC header is also starting to flake off..
Im thinking of having it stripped and recoated again. Just wonder how much its going to cost me.

Not long at all, it's only been a matter of weeks, maybe a month. Doesn't really make sense.

well that sucks dude. I just got my DC header last week and it still looks nice. I guess I'll have to enjoy it while it lasts...

Still, I'm glad I got the ceramic one, I've heard the Stainless Steel one turns a purplish color or something. Can anyone back that up? I heard it looks like **** after it heats up

I have DC Sports been on there for over a year with no problems... Get them powder coated if you are looking to show the car.

hahaha, powder coat, hmmm it melts onto metal at like 400 some degrees, so how would that last on a header? Anyways, I had my DC on for about a year and a half and it just barely started coming off under the car, but not up top at all, it wasn't as shiny as new, but still there. I know it sounds ghetto, but I've had good luck with that cheap header paint on other headers, usually lasts around a year or so. I just switched out to a stainless RS*R header, and yes they turn gold immediatly, then they blue and purple. Not super pretty, but a large power increase over the DC
