the cost of repairs is like $8000+ according to the bodyshop(greedy maybe) and that's why insurance wants to total it... but i'm working on trying not get screwed here. it happened when i was coming home and there was like bumper to bumper traffic. there were like five accidents that night including mine...
i feel your pain man...thats pretty much how my car looked back in Jan. that can be fixed though, dont know why they would want to total it. if so then get a 01 GSR. good luck

the car is fixable and as much as i'd like to get a new ride, i've been thru and done too much to the car to just let it go... my plans (crossing fingers) are to try and get a front end conversion. i'll just hope for the best
damn.. that sucks.. i hate traffic! I looked at the pics of your EG.. its looks awesome!! Now i just need mine to look like that!
also if you can sell your wheels, wanna sell/give them to me?

Tell them, total it and pay you a fair value based on all the extra work and paint job. And at the same time you tell them your keeping the car and how much money they need back to make that happen, It better not be a lot of money too because once its total its just salvage of the parts left. Maybe 2-4 K in salvage valve, What do you all think about that? Get a check for 8K on top of that and fix it.

andy-
thanks for the suggestion. i'll keep that in mind. i was told by others not to let insurance "walk all over me"
keys-
the car was just repainted milano red. i wanted to keep the car simple didn't want to go crazy on the color. the lip is from a 97 itr and the conversion i was hoping to get would be a jdm front end.

if they total your car out, buy it back, I would be interested in at least the rear bumber, and if you have black leather interior I am interested in alot more.

paint cost was about $4000, but they fixed all the dings, shaved the emblems, rear water sprayer, antenna, and wing holes
Have you gotten multiple body shop estimates?
If you're in a situation like this, NEVER settle for one if you can help it. Find several shops you can trust (ask the Acura dealers who does their body work for them) and get multiple estimates. Then, if you think you've found a good shop who is more expensive, show them your other estimates and see what they say.
Which insurance company do you have, btw?

that sux dude, I hope you can get it fixed! I dont know why they would total it, When I got into an accident with my Hyundai Accent I had $5500 damage and the didnt total it, I dont know why, the car wasnt even worth that much!

i used tester's stained glass paint on the bumper lenses...if i remember correctly, i think it was 'blueEG6' who gave me the tip. i also used that for the corner lenses on my eg but i don't have pics. they came out pretty good and look like vision lenses(can't afford big bucks for stupid lamps). i know that they do make an all amber bumper lamp for the 94-97 model dc's but they're supposedly very rare and i'm sure they're expensive too.

yah probably because it's a 95 and the value of the car isn't so high.. I was at the body shop the other.. this 2001 Jetta had $10,000 of damage... and the insurance company wanted to total it.. said that it was close to being totaled so the body shop worked out a deal and took out a few things to bring the estimate lower....ooo and this is a new jetta too...
