** B18b Is hellla smoking blue !! !! Piston ring or Turbo Oil seal ? ? ? ? **
This morning, I started the car (b18b turbo stock internals running 8psi) and it smoked helle blue smoke in the back. However, yesterday night, the car was running fine fine fine... I am wondering what's going wrong, I know I washed the engine this morning and the timing belt got wet (I did not put the upper plastic cover back on)... can that desynchronize the thing and make the motor smoke blue? What can be wrong.... At start, is really smoking, but when the engine reach it's operating temperature at idle, no more smoke....
Help please...
Help please...

From what you describe it's the valves oil seal, is the lil seal that sits on the valve guides and prevent oil to get into the combustion chamber.....
another way of telling this is find a hill and go down in any gear, let the car brakes itself with the engine and then push the throtle in, if it valve seals you'll see a cloud of smoke when you smash on the pedal...if not, then is either your rings or turbo seals..
my question would be, how can u tell if is rings or turbo oil seals??
Help please...

You could tell if its rings by a compression test, also you will have higher crankcase pressure and you may see oil residue collecting at the valve cover breather, or then end of a hose connected to it.
If you pull the down pipe off the turbo it will be oily in there if its the turbo. Also check the first boost tube out of the turbo and there maybe oil there too.
Oil being burned through the turbo smells completely different than oil burned through the engine.
