I want a REAL brake uprade to fit under 15" wheels.
ok. the R is nice and everything, but i have a blower on my car and want to really have a TOP notch braking system. i still want to be able to use 15" wheels, (MAYBE 16"). i seem to remember reading threads and other web pafes in the poast where civics, crx's and tegs were running 4 piston setups under 15" wheels with brembo, alcon and AP calipers and 11.75 to 12.1" rotors. this would be something i am looking for. a slight upgrade in rotor diameter, and a thicker rotor (i love the legend 28mm rotors on my civic) and a lightweight, 4 piston caliper. getting info from the manufacturers is pretty tough, as all they email me and tell me is "we have a 13" kit and you need 17" wheels for it". well, thanks, but that isn't uite what i am looking for. anyone have any info, or better yet, experience with something along these lines that would (or has) worked on an R?? thanks!

Brian can hook you up. I have a 11.75" 2 piece rotor setup with Wilwood Superlite 4 piston calipers on my Civic, and they fit under "most" 15" wheels.
Here's a pic of the setup under a 16" wheel:

I know that the AP3434 or AP3307 are the best choices u can get that would fit with a Civic/Integra that has 15x7JJ rims. They're widely used in FIA Gr.A races.
As I know AP5100 are the better caliper for street use coz they have seals as I know. But doesn't include rotors & pads in that kit. Also u need to custom make your own adaptor.
i already have Volk Te37's in 16"s. the reason i posted this uestion was to see if there was a brake upgrade available that would increase rotor diameter, rotor mass, and increase control and clamping force (or at least 2 out of the three) which would fit under a 15" stock wheel, since i have 2 sets of the stock wheels as well as the volk's. i will not be getting any other wheels. this is strictly now a search for brakes.

I heard something about Acura Legand brakes will fit out cars and preform better. Anyone ever heard anything like that?
sure they do. just need to use Legend rotors, and then you can use legend or ITR calipers. but those mugs are like get-some-jail-house-muscles heavy. i have them on my civic.
If you want to go with a 15" wheel without going fuckinSmurfFugly blue, call Brian at http://www.fastbrakes.com

does it really matter why i want better brakes? basically, i would love a 11.7" x 28mm rotor and a lighweight 4 piston caliper. i don't think that there is anything that fits this bill that i have come across ...
Anyone have anything good to say about the Mugen brake kit? ( http://www.kingmotorsports.com...l=271 ) From what I can tell it looks like a set of painted ITR calipers with slotted rotors and stainless lines?
if you look, you will see that the mugen kit gives you larger diameter rotors. my understanding is that they use S2000 calipers.

Stock brakes will lock up R compounds. IMO the only weak spot is some (a little) fade from brakeing to much too soon. I know because that is a bad habit I have been trying to work out of my system. I think the best brake upgrade besides pads and fluid is seat time, and maybe a functioning cooling system.
And what George said.

Huh ?
IMHO the stock ITR brakes are not built for a real race action. Braking down from 240km/h to 140km/h very violent again and again while the race is running destroy the rotors very quickly. I had to replace them last week after overheating them again. The pads had been okay (Ferodo 2500) but the rotors were bad (again).. damn. I saw guys during the training hours at Hockenheim changing the rotors two times before high noon (!!!)
The ITR brake system is okay for driving around and some hours of weekend tracking , but not for serious racing.
We use AP and Alcon brakes. Here is a pic, if you like.

Ha!
And there is the problem: I have to pay 147 Euros for one ITR stock rotor and the Alcon setup you see on that pic is from last year. The rotors are still running and will be replaces after more tha 2000km of racetrack.
If you can get the ITR rotors for 50$..okay. Have fun. But note my story:
I entered the ring entry and had my first hard braking after 4km at the Aremberg-curve... Rotors overheated... At km 6 I noticed a shaking steering wheel. And from km 12 on I had trouble to keep control over my car.. I was glad to leave the ring after completing this one lap.
Sorry. It`s just me, but it`s my opinion and my own experience..
EDIT: I don`t want to offend... ITR brakes work fine.. best brakes out there on a stock car in this class, but you can`t go wrong upgrading brakes and suspension.. Both can save victory and at least your life.
ITR stock brakes are way to expensive for me to buy.

I've been using DS3000 with stock rotors on the track. They are still OK, but almost finished.... Now I'm using DS2500....
