fuel filter loc?
It's also good to own a flare nut wrench.
But yeah, look on the right side of the engine bay, back towards the firewall, and then look down and you'll see it.
What I want to know is why the hell they put it in such a hard to reach spot, because it was a pain in the *** to change mine from the top or from the bottom.
On the 4th gens wasn't the fuel filter located on the firewall near the top?

If it's not causing any problems I would leave it alone.

see #2 and #4, those are right under your master cylander. you only got a few inches between the fender and master cylander to get your hands in there
I believe #1 is what you are looking for for a 6th gen
you need flare nut wrence and or crows foot sockets to get it out, extensions help and being able to access the car from top and bottom at the same time help alot, it takes me 15-30 mins to changes this fuel filter(jiffy lube) . dont be afraid to remove interfering vac lines and or undo the fuel line from the rail.
To bump this thread up. I have changed 4g fuel filters, its so easy. On my 5th gen this is the first time going at it, I can't even get the bottom banjo bolt off! There is NO way of getting to it from the bottom. NONE. I guess you have to have reallly skinny hands or something... I managed to get the top bolt off fine, and one of the brace bolts that hold it in place, the other one wouldnt come off. In the process I dropped one of my sockets and it fell down and got wedged in between the fuel lines, like way under there. Hahaha, what a pain in the ***. So after an hour and half I just put everything back and I'm going to take it somewhere else to get it done, I'm sick of it. 1.5 hours I have nothing to show for it except cut up hands and an abundance of nervous energy. UGH!! <end rant>
