How to undo C ring on DSM t25 compressor housing?
need to know how to undo snap the ring from the compressor housing so i can clock it to run the compressor outlet on the top instead of on the bottom of the engine bay. thanks, any help appreciated, tired of busting hands on trying my home made snap ring pliers for that damn thing,
its called a snap ring, and theres a special tool for removing it. Also Are you switching to an external wastegate? Because you cant just clock an internal gate turbo... the wastegate wont bolt up.

I'm not sure if I'm understanding correctly, but you don't have to remove that snap ring in order to rotate the compressor housing. My T25 was a little "sticky", but after removing the 4 bolts that go into the exhaust side of the turbo, I was able to tap on it some, then basically pull the entire exhaust housing off, allowing me to point the compressor outlet any direction I wanted to. Never had to touch that giant snap ring (didn't want to either!). The snap ring just holds the "guts" of the turbo inside the compressor housing.
edit: P.S. Uberteg, "who cut your hair man?"

i already took off the 4 bolts to the exhaust housing and i can spin the compressor housing but the center section with the oil drain flange is now on the top of the turbo. Can i still run the turbo with the drain flange on the top? i am also going to retap the turbo for the wastegate holes, i already lined it up and kept the same geometery. made sure to not drill too deep or else would drill a hole into the compressor. hehe. Where could i get a snap ring pliers big enough to give me enough leverage to take that dam thing off? thanks. peace.
With my old turbo set up I never had to undo the snap ring, just the 4 bolts like the above person said. And no, you can't have your drain on top.
you can't turn the center section of the turbo if the snap ring isn't out. yeah you can turn the turbo with the four bolts out but you can't only adjust the compressor housing just right. how hard is it to get out that snap ring, if its too hard i'm just going to leave it and run the u-bends instead.
dood spray the snap ring with wd40 leave it for a while then hit the compressor with a rubber mallet itll prolly move. if you dont wanna buy snap ring plyiers try using some needle nose
DO NOT TAKE THE RING OUT, UNLESS U GOT THE RIGHT PLYERS
its an absolute bitch to get in if you dont have the right snap ring plyiers, and look out because itll spring and hit you look out
