Default Is the lip on the hub...

really needed? The one I'm talking about is the one that's immediately around the axle nut. The center bore of the front wheels just clear it, so I'm thinking that it's a centering device. I want to know if it's necessary because I'm contemplating the idea of grinding it down so that I can put some 14's (with azenis) from a Miata on. Thanks
