you will have to get the inserts from ricks I think they are like 80.00. The down side is that you have to split the housing to get them in.

You can order the actual JDM headlight assemblies. They come with clear diffusers and retail for around $800 I believe. Check around for places to order.

thing about going with the jdm headlights is (correct me if i'm wrong), but the headlights are angled incorrectly for USDM.

if you think about it, jdm headlights are worth the price you pay for them. if you buy a brand new set of oem headlights, they're around $600. you're basically paying $200 on top of that for some jdm's (which isn't bad after shipping from japan, and tariff's and stuff). they're also pretty much guaranteed not to leak too, which you can't guarantee after installing the diffusers that rick sells.

you are correct.

There's a guy that lives near me with JDM headlights on his s2k. Shines right in my eye when he's coming at me on a 2-lane/2-way. I don't mind it so much though, because EVERY SUV that comes at me blinds me, especially that new H2. So one car every now and then blinding me is cool.

I would take my chances with the Ricks conversion first. Thats a lot of money to pay just to have clear blinkers on your car.

Also there is the possibility of leakage if they arent sealed up well enough, the edges of the headlights can get looking pretty nasty too (not too much of an issue on this car since the lights are totally covered by the fenders). Also if you want the 02+ JDM assemblies with the chrome projectors there isn't any option other than the real deal JDM ones.

Plus some people just care about having the real thing off the JDM cars.

Its the same reason why people restoring historic cars pay oodles of money for an ACTUAL part instead of some aftermarket replica. Authenticity is important to some people.

but it's not a rip off. if you sell your oem headlights, you would only be spending around $200 or so, and it's pretty much guaranteed that they won't leak.

Moyopoyo, is it just me or are we going around in circles on this topic?

me personally, i don't want the risk of leakage... jdm sounds good to me.. BUT, I don't like the idea that my headlights are aligned incorrectly.
Ok..enough of this... I know we've covered this

i know, that's why i had to quote myself.

true, but who's going to buy used headlights for $600? </TD></TR></TABLE>

i've seen it happen many times on s2ki for brand new ones. if you do it early enough, and there aren't any/many pits on the headlights, or you have a headlight protector on it, then it wouldn't be that hard.

I'm not too concerned about the blinding people thing. As someone mentioned earlier, I get blinded by SUV's and trucks all the time. Actually I dont mind dishing some out myself

you don't even need to put ricks special pieces in the headlight a buddy of mine split open his headlights and just took out the amber piece and it looks sweet. Now the turnsignal portion of the light looks just like thheadlight itself (not the projector part).
