Default Lowered ITR + Apex-i N1 Catback = Problem?

Anyone who has this combination, do you find that your exhaust piping is hitting the rear control arm causing a annoying *** rattle? I don't know what to do, but its bugging the crap out of me. I thought of heat wrap but i was wondering if anyone else experienced this. Thanks alot.

Did you try hanging it using the other hangers? Mine did that on my GS-R, and I was able to stop it by playing with the hangers.

i dont think any other position would work because that would put it too close to the rear bumper, melting off the paint. this sucks, i dont know what to do right now.

just have a muffler shop heat up the pipe by the axle and bend it a bit, that should do it for ya......it worked for me.NO MORE RATTLES

cool, thanks speedracer. If it comes down to that i'll prob have them bend the hangers, but i'd like to try something first before i do something thats irreversible.

I just put the N1 on my R and have a few questions.... People with this rattling problem, how much lower are your cars than stock? I'm going to do the Mugen lowdown suspension in the future and was wondering if 3/4 to 1" drop would give me the same problem? Thanks in advance for any help.

I love the APEXi N1 exhaust for ITR. But the fit is what I dislike about it. It rubs the bumper on the back edge, and rattles when you put it in reverse also. That is why I went with the 5 Zigen Fireball cat-back. It fit flawlessly, not even a hint of rattles or rubbing. It's also quieter than the APEXi. Just my .02cents.

How big is the piping on the 5-zegen fireball cat-back? does it come out sideways, like the N1?

Does anybody think that using polyurethane exhaust hangers might work? They'll help the exhaust to hanger slightly higher and they won't sag over time like the rubbers ones do. I'm not absolutely sure they would...but, it might be worth something to give them a try. Using them with a little bending of the exhaust hanger right by the right-side LCA might alleviate the problems.
