Default battery life on rs3 remote

how long does your battery usually last for? i had my alarm installed on mar 19 and this monday (apr 14), one block of the battery was gone. now, it's friday (apr 18), and another block of battery is gone, leaving me only with 50%. it doesn't seem right. i turned the backlight off to save battery on tuesday (apr 15). any idea what's wrong?

if/when i change battery, is there anything i have to press after putting in the new one (ie, reporgramming or anything)?

One of my buddies with a 790XV had to change his battery after 5 months. No reprogramming was necessary.

yeah, once that battory moves at all, the remaining battory goes by quick! One normally lasts me like a month with the backlight on and using it a lot. No biggie though. And no, you dont have to press any buttons or reporgram it. The remote makes a shiz load of cool noices and plays a song when you replace the battory though.... really phat!

its nice.. there are other cheapo 2way pagers out there but dei owns the market when it comes to certian features of alarms like being able to program w/ a BIT Writer.. the cliddord matrix rs3, viper790xv, and python (something) are all the same exact alarm..

On my Compustar, they recommend that you be within CLOSE proximity of your car when replacing the battery on the remote since it will lose it's "synch" with the brains when you remove the battery. So when you replace it, the brain will try to "synch" with the remote once it's back up.

And if it's at 50%, I would replace the battery since that's 50% less range on your transmitter.

actaully, the lower battery power doesent seam to affect the range with the rs3.
