Has anyone changed out the thermostat on their teg? Im wondering if anyone is using anything cooler than a 180 thermostat. Thats all I can find, if so where did you get it from. Thanks

hahaha funny, but is there a gain in performance or reliability? i dont think so.

 

do a search of previous post. the only way u gain ne thing is if your old thermostat is not working correctly. I saw one at western auto for $2.50 screw jackson racing!

 

well he is from arizona and i know in the summer it gets over 110 degrees so i can see why he wants to keep his car running cooler. maybe it won't give you 5-10hp but it will probly help the reliability

 

Add AC+driving friends around+stop and go traffic=Why wouldn't you get it. I didn't install mine to get any hp, but to have a little insurance in stop and go traffic in 100 degree weather Los Angeles style. My car runs *COOLER* and consider it the best $10 bucks I ever spent. Also, I spoke with a HONDA mechanic and the only reason they use that 180 thermostat is because of emissions, no other reason

 

I dont want a thermostat for extra power, come on now...I think some of you should come down to AZ and try driving a turbocharged car with A/C in 115 degree weather and then maybe you'll wonder why I want a cooler thermostat. Thanks to those of you for the help, I appreciate it.

 

Not to be a dick but I lve in Las Vegas Nevada (120 degree summers) and tha stock one cools the car just. I think yur just tryin to find **** to fiddle with, but its yur car so do what you wanna do. At least yur not buyin Altezza taillights.

 

No offense taken, ya the stock thermostat did fine, but I dont think you realize how much extra heat is produced from a turbo especially when the front mount intercooler blocks the air going to the radiator.
