Default Kenji P28 Emissions test =p

Did a little emissions test today for fun with my Kenji chipped P28 on the JDM ITR engine.

Cat is gutted as well..

2000 rpm

430 HC
3.87 CO
12.5 CO2
14 O2
163 NOx
13 A/F

IDLE

6.63 HC
6.61 CO
10.6 CO2
0.4 O2
70 NOx
11.9 NOx

Runs rich no doubt. Everything else is horrible just as expected without a cat.

I think I need new plugs as well.

Just an FYI for anyone who cares..

My ECUs really shouldn't be used for emissions testing (if you want to pass). Chances are any race program out there (including mine) will fail an emissions test miserably.

However, I did have one customer with a Del Sol that passed emissions using my ECU. Don't know how he passed but he did pass.

Heh, crap, looks like I may need to find a virgin p28 towards the end of the summer. Bloody yearly emissions testing.... Damn you Kenji for making my car more fun to drive!

I knew it wouldn't pass... this was just for fun. It's a goot ecu though..

Thank you So much for sending me the new chip for Free (since I am so **** about my car running rich)----I installed the new chip last night and It works.

I don't know the specs of the chip you sent me (is it open or close loop? and when does vtec comes on) I would really like to know. Thank you again.

Kenji - if you come back to this thread.. can you tell me more about the chip this dude is talking about? I'd like to know if there is an alternative to running the "richer" chip all the time.

The one I'm using I believe is causing my 02 sensor code to pop on every now and then. I could try some new plugs too though..

Hmmm. Interesting. I have to get my car smogged soon, and I'm feeling too lazy to zero out my camgears, reset my timing and swap out ECU's. I think I'm going to try smogging it for the helluvit. I'll just lean everything out to high heavens on the V-AFC...

On my car, i failed with stock injectors, stock ecu, and wired bypass valve open with cat in place. But i passed the obd2 scan check, so i put in the p72 with hondata and 440 c injectors and let the bypass valve operate normally...passed with little more than a fart (aka hardly any emissions)

Yup.

A friend of mine is a Hondata dealer. His car can pass emissions (in my state at least) without a cat.
