Roll Bar
Hi guys i just recently started autocross and i think its great, I'm geting ready for streets of willow hopefully in may! I was wondering if any of you would have sketch or list of parts, as well as dimensions/thickness and what kind of pipe to use when making roll bar!
It would go in a 88-91 CRX Si
Pictures would also be appreciated.

Unless you have built one and had it approved in the past-I will echo and urge you to contact KIRK Racing Products or Autopower. Also get yourself a copy of the SCCA General Competition Rules. You say you are doing autocross-so get the rules governing SOLO competition. SCCA can be reached at 1-800-770-2055.
The required tubing is either DOM or ChromeMoly steel. Diameter and wall thickness are determined by the weight of the car. Contstruction/design is determined by the class and category of competition. The manufacturers I mentioned are both well versed and you need to call them as awell. Don't do this without proper planning.

I highly recommend using Kirk Racing Products for cages and bars. I ordered my cage in mid-March and it took only two+ weeks to ship. I consider it almost a custom cage because there are so many options to add. I got dual door bars, X brace and bunch of bracing within the bars. The fit is good.
Julie, who generally answers the phone and replies on e-mail was really knowlegeable and pleasant to deal with.

If you are an experienced welder and have access to the fabrication equipment, there really isnt any reason not to make your own. Just do your homework, study some CRX rollbars and replicate. There really isnt any magic voodoo involved in a rollbar.
however, this is not a regular old DIY job, so if you dont know how to weld or fabricate then an autopower is by far a better choice. and to be honest, if you knew how to weld or fabricate, you would not be asking this question and would have already built one.
