So, for the most part..you guys launch at around 4-5k on street tires..and get 2.0-2.1 60ft's ? I launch at 6k and ran 14.4 on street tires w/ 20 psi

I see, sometimes the seach sucks. I have an Intake and I usually have about 17-18 psi in the front tires.

launching at 7 seems pretty harsh..I went to the track last night, launched at 6, and got continuous wheel hop..The tires weren't grabbing.

Well, the tire pressure was only at 20 psi..so i guess i didn't slip the clutch..Any suggestions? I should be running low 14's, and i was very upset w/ my runs last night

</TD></TR></TABLE> Well, keep in mind that weather condition do affect your times.
I would drop the pressure to like 18 and then don't enguage the clutch all of the way when you take off.. it'll enguage a little slower and once it is fully enguaged then just shift fast and make sure you stay in the power band. When my clutch enguages I'm already at 7500-8000 so I shift pretty soon. But if you aren't all the way enguaged when you shift at that speed, then you'll drop out of the powerband.

Thanks for the advice, and your right..i fell out of VTEC during one of the runs..I switched to second because of the massive wheel hop, and then it dropped to 4k RPM
Also, it was pretty hot out last night. Maybe around 80's. I think i just need to practice a little more, but i still don't know about 7k RPM. Your car still runs fine? How many miles do you have?

Practice is key.
As for the car, it runs wonderfully; but my clutch doesn't like me - I had to replace it. Although I doubt it's from 6 or so times I've gone to the track, I generally drive the hell out of my car. I have 38,XXX miles on my car.

My best is a 14.46 @ 95.XX, with 3 14.5's to back it up.

Many places don't allow that.

Nice runs socalITR. Even though my clutch is starting to wear, i'll try launching at 7,000 to see if they grip. Still seems high to me though.
I just hit the 40k mark on the ITR
Still running like a champ though

what about your 1/4 mile times?

No. My 13.7 was with the stock exhaust hooked up. My 14.0 with the stock exhaust manifold was open header but that was a long time ago.
Oh and what drag strip doesn't allow open header? If some tracks don't allow open header how are half of the cars even going to race (the real drag cars not us street cars)?

Shrugs:
I asked them at the gate, they said no open header... maybe that's just out in CA. Never tried in PA.
