Default h22 -> in 92 Accord EX

Got my tax return. Thinkin about an engine swap. What is the difference between a h22 and a h22a? Is tryin to find mounts and other stuff going to be a pain? Thinkin about 4k for engine -- how much should labor be?

h22 is the typeS motor. i think it's too overpriced & overrated. just go with the h22a from the 93-00 preludes. check out http://www.hmotorsonline.com for prices & shipping. if you search, you could find lots of topic about 4gen h22a and there's couple of people here that has it

Check out eBay for a JDM H22A1, just make sure it's not and H22A4 cause they're OBDII.

Or... http://www.streetimports.com these guys are good

Or... HASport is a very good company, they actually know what they're doing and are cool dudes http://www.hasport.com

Or... http://www.h22a.com is also good

As far as the swap, the engine will drop right in with no modification to the mounts There are a few little things you have to change for the shift linkages and the vtec and the IAB solenoid. I really isn't that hard at all. After you hunt down your engine just give HASport a call and ask them if you have any questions about the swap process

h22 and h22a is the same thing, h22a is the 'full' jdm engine code. all the jdm h22a's just say "h22a" on the block - that's what makes it hard to determine if you actually have a euro r or type s h22a, without digging into it. with the exception of the h22a7 but im not too sure if thats jdm or europe, but i know it exists

h22a1 is udsm 92-96 with 96 obdII

If your looking to spend 4k you should be able to get a h22a for around 2k , and you would just want to get a new timing belt, water pump, wires & plugs, clutch and all your basic fluids and modified cat to fit correctly

So how do you determine which one it is from the inside?

doesnt matter...you use your stock harness anyway and all the obdII stuff can be taken from the f series and put on the h series (egr, speedo, injectors, front water neck, etc..)
