How to break in Hawk Blue pads?
Generally, the best way to bed pads is to take your car out after installing them on a safe, uncrowded street and do several (about 5 or 6) stops from 30mph to 0 holding the brake pedal firmly (Not slamming it, just firmly). This will warm up the pads enough to start the outgassing process (IE: You should smell/see some smoke from the brakes). Now, take it up to 60mph and do the same thing..about 4 or 5 stops from 60 to 0 while holding the brake firmly. That is it, you are done. Well, actually, you arent done. What you want to do after this is drive for about 10-20 minutes on a highway or something (with little braking) to give the pads a chance to cool down. After that, your are done. Go inside and have a

Go into an alley.
Drive forward to about 25mph, gently apply brakes and stop.
Reverse down the same alley to about 25mph, apply brakes gently stop.
Repeat procedure 6 or 7 times. Park car do not drive for 1/2 hour.
After that, brake away.
