Default Who ran the stock suspension in the expo?

I just want to know who was running the stock R suspension and how did they do versus people with aftermarket coilovers, shocks, struts and/or springs?

i ran stock and I was running bumper to bumper with Davidnyc at one point.

He had race slicks and I had Azenis. Dont know if he has after market suspension, but at one point he and I were running wild on the track with no one in front or behind us

Stock did pretty well I have to say

I was all stock in Advanced. Well, minus a jdm header... I only got passed by a few R's, one of them being Wes' pimpy Mugen'd R. And the b18c5 R&D hatch owned me a couple times I think

stock R suspension does rock, but I was really wishing I had some stiffer suspension, I was plowing hard core going into T5. But I was also probably over-driving that turn coming in too hot as Frank mentioned to me.

i was running with stock sus and azeins in advanced and getting owned by everyone. i think i passed one R all weekend.

floyd got me on the back straight but i must have done the uphill turns really well that lap because i passed him right back on the front straight. i think he might have had a problem because i didn't see him for the rest of the session.

Yea and after we got the pointbys we took off

Those were aprreciated BTW. Someone wasnt giving me the pointby because he had more power in the straights than me, even though I was all over his *** in the corners

Really nice meeting you Ben! Where were you on Sunday?

I remember chasing after and passed you. But just to be fair, I have suspension mods and was on R tires.

I was on stock suspension with Azenis. Well, I have a 23mm rear sway, but stock shocks/springs. Car felt really good and I know I could have pushed it farther, but I was pushing myself pretty far and have alot to learn before I've pushed the stock suspension way out there.

Seriously, you can rock out on any track in a stock R. It fuggin owns.

I got stock and I got roll. I don't see any drawback of the stock suspension on that track...perhaps I am not driving fast enough

running on totally stock suspension at 77k miles.. no problems at all.. passing people in novice, but got passed in int 1.. i think that was me learning at the next level though, not the car's setup..

some aftermarket goodies like some buddy clubs or zeals would've sure been nice though.. i will have swaybars at least by the next event..

haha, I didn't say I pointed you by because you had mad-power, I pointed people by because they stuck to me in the corners and I didn't see it being too fair to play hold-up all day while people with more capable hands or cars stuck behind me

I really missed the race suspension and seat/harness of the hatch though. I'd have loved to driven that back section T1-T7 with it. Would have owned... not so much on the straights though I'm afraid, lol

compression is ok, body roll is dealable my only complaint is that the rebound could be better. the car takes a bit to long to settle during quick transitions requiring you to hold back longer before getting on the gas.

Hey! Good meeting you too - and the dawg, he's a good one. I split out early to get back on the road but my second session Sunday was my fastest I think. I noticed how much more braking power you had on me going into T10 (is that right?) I'd see you far back in my mirror, and then wam-o, right on my tail. My hawks were almost gone and i was pushing the pedal almost to the floor. And thanks, you're a great driver too. Hope to do it again soon!

Me.

If you can't out drive the R is stock form then there is no reason for change.

But, it's always fun to mod...

I'm all stock except the AEM.

I think that was one of the only times I passed someone. Most of the time I was getting rolled. Hopefully I was letting everyone by without too much trouble.

Nah, my only problem was I was slow.

I had 4 things that were slowing me down:

-Braking too much and too early for T1. (Very intimidating braking zone.)
-Over driving some corners. T5, going up the hill, and T7 coming down the other side, the car would push a lot.
-Taking T10 in 3rd. I was too scared I would miss the 2-3 shift and pull 1st instead. I hate trying to shift mid corner, especially a right hander.
-Not staying on the throttle in areas I probably should have. Namely the high speed kink on the back straight, and the blind right hander coming down the hill.

I ran stock suspension with Azenis, and the car was completely stock minus a Autopower roll bar. The car worked amazingly well, and I was only passes once or twice in my first session, as this was my first track event. I knew the stock suspension was good from autocross experience, but it felt even better on the track, at its home.
